Job Description


The Senior Publishing Relations Manager acts as gatekeeper; effectively ensuring Elseviers best practices for the use and display of third-party content (journals, books, conferences, standards, patents, funding data, etc), safeguarding Elseviers reputation as well as content partners intellectual property. The Senior Publishing Relations Manager will also contribute to the enhancement of our dedicated rights management system, proposing new feature ideas that address users paint points and needs based on business strategic goals. You will communicate production issues of the system based on relevant data for timely resolution and also present demos to key stakeholders at system milestones. You are a diplomatic and culturally sensitive individual with a strong analytical mind and business acumen who can close deals with confidence and fulfill long-term strategic goals. You are team player with excellent communications skills. You will be based in Chennai and report to the Head of Content Data Sourcing. Responsibilities: Develop the value proposition and strategic communication plan regarding the outreach to external content partners. Facilitates the continuous content expansion of Elsevier products. Act as a gatekeeper; effectively ensuring Elseviers best practices for the use and display of third-party content, safeguarding Elseviers reputation as well as content partners intellectual property. Manage multiple competing activities with fluctuating deadlines and dependencies on work by other business units and third parties. Customer experience (CX) enthusiast who delivers a smooth, unfragmented and consistent customer experience across all touchpoints and at all stages of the customer lifecycle. Contribute to the development of the capability/tool roadmap (our dedicated rights management system) in consultation with the Technology Team (DBS). Engagement with internal stakeholders to evolve the capability/tool roadmap and communicate back updates and enhancements for our dedicated rights management system. Prioritize and communicate production issues of our dedicated rights management system based on relevant data for timely resolution. Raise Jira tickets on behalf of CDS team, ensuring Jira ticket completeness (eg, prioritization, business value, acceptance criteria). Identify areas for improvement and facilitate the implementation of initiatives improving overall capability and efficiency of our dedicated rights management system. Customer experience (CX) enthusiast with devotion to provide high-quality service. Knowledge of Salesforce required; experience with JIRA and UAT desired. Proficiency in various technologies and platforms (Tableau, Snowflake, Miro) is a plus. 8+ years of proven commercial experience, preferably in an international matrix organization. Bachelor s or master s degree in the subject. Lots of energy, enthusiasm, and a passion for negotiating and closing deals. A thorough understanding of the world of research and an affinity with its key players. An independent, strategic and results-driven mindset, with a high level of attention to detail, as well as a customer-focused approach. Excellent verbal and written English communications skills.
