The Senior Project Engineer - Interior is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing interior fit-out works for hospitality projects such as hotels, resorts, and high-end serviced apartments. The role ensures that design intent, quality standards, timelines, and cost targets are met while coordinating with consultants, contractors, vendors, and client teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Planning & Coordination
Review project drawings, specifications, BOQs, and design details for interior works.
Prepare project execution plans, work schedules, and resource allocation for interior packages (joinery, furniture, finishes, MEP interface, etc.).
Coordinate with architects, interior designers, MEP teams, and specialist contractors to ensure seamless integration.
2. Site Execution & Supervision
Lead day-to-day supervision of interior fit-out activities, ensuring adherence to approved drawings and quality standards.
Monitor progress of civil and interior works including partitions, ceilings, flooring, wall finishes, joinery installations, and FF&E.
Verify alignment, levels, measurements, and installation techniques to maintain precision and finish quality expected in hospitality projects.
3. Quality Assurance
Conduct regular inspections and snag checks to ensure compliance with design, materials, and workmanship standards.
Implement QA/QC processes for interior materials such as veneers, laminates, stones, tiles, fabrics, paints, and furniture.
Coordinate mock-ups and obtain necessary approvals.
4. Vendor & Contractor Management
Evaluate contractor and vendor performance for timely delivery and quality.
Review and certify contractor bills, material submittals, samples, and shop drawings.
Ensure materials and manpower availability as per project schedule.
5. Cost & Time Management
Track project budgets, variations, and additional works.
Monitor schedules and proactively address delays or site challenges.
Support project manager in forecasting resource needs and controlling costs.
6. Safety & Compliance
Ensure that all interior works comply with safety standards, local regulations, and project-specific guidelines.
Conduct toolbox talks and enforce site HSE policies for interior contractors.
7. Coordination with Hospitality Operators
Work closely with hotel operator teams for compliance with brand standards related to finishes, lighting, joinery, signage, and FF&E.
Manage operator walkthroughs and ensure closure of comments.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (B.E./B.Tech).
7+ years of experience in interior fit-out, preferably in
hospitality, luxury hotels, resorts, or high-end commercial projects
.
Strong knowledge of interior materials, detailing, and international hotel operator standards.
Proficient in reading drawings (civil, ID, MEP), and software such as AutoCAD, MS Project/Primavera, and MS Office.
