leads the end-to-end planning, design, installation, and commissioning of HVAC systems for commercial, industrial, and residential projects. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong project execution capability, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders with ease.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Coordination
Review HVAC designs, tender drawings, BOQs and specifications to ensure accuracy and feasibility.
Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, electrical and plumbing teams to integrate HVAC systems with overall project design.
Prepare HVAC work schedules, manpower planning and material forecasts in alignment with the master project schedule.
Site Execution
Supervise the on-site installation of HVAC systems including chillers, AHUs, FCUs, ducting, VRF/VRV systems, exhaust systems, ventilation units and insulation works.
Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure compliance with approved shop drawings and method statements.
Conduct site inspections and quality checks during various stages of HVAC installation.
Technical Support & Issue Resolution
Resolve technical conflicts or site issues related to duct routing, equipment space constraints and inter-service clashes.
Liaise with consultants, OEMs and design engineers for technical clarifications and RFIs (Requests for Information).
Review and approve shop drawings, as-built drawings and equipment datasheets.
Testing, Commissioning & Handover
Lead testing and commissioning of HVAC systems including airflow balancing, leak testing, functional testing and system integration.
Ensure HVAC systems operate as per design parameters and client expectations.
Prepare and submit commissioning reports, test certificates and handover documentation.
Quality & Safety Compliance
Enforce adherence to quality standards and project specifications.
Ensure all HVAC installation works comply with ASHRAE, ISHRAE, NBC and relevant standards.
Monitor site safety practices, especially during equipment handling and working at heights.
Material & Vendor Management
Coordinate with procurement and vendors for timely delivery of HVAC equipment and materials.
Verify and certify subcontractor bills and vendor invoices based on actual progress and measurement.
Reporting & Documentation
Maintain daily and weekly progress reports, quality checklists and inspection logs.
Prepare MIS reports and update stakeholders on progress, risks and resource needs.
Document project changes, variation orders and maintain complete HVAC project records.
