Job Description

Job Purpose:

To lead and oversee the daily production operations on the shop floor, ensuring productivity, quality, safety, and timely delivery of mechanical components/products as per plan..

Key Skills:

Production Management

Plan and execute daily production schedules to meet output targets. Monitor machine and manpower utilization. Coordinate with planning, quality, and maintenance departments for smooth operations.

Team Supervision

Supervise and guide shift supervisors, operators, and workers. Conduct daily briefings, assign duties, and ensure compliance with SOPs. Train and mentor junior staff on best manufacturing practices.

Quality Assurance

Ensure product quality as per customer and internal standards. Work closely with the quality department to handle in-process inspection and reduce rejection rates.

Process Improvement

Implement Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and other improvement initiatives. Identify and address process bottlenecks to improve cycle time and reduce downtime.

Safety & Compliance

Enforce health and safety regulations. Conduct safety tool-box talks and ensure the use of PPE. Maintain proper documentation of checklists, logs, and reports.

Reporting

Submit daily, weekly, and monthly production reports. Analyze production data and present improvement plans to management.

Key Skills & Competencies:

Strong leadership and team management Knowledge of mechanical processes (e.g., machining, assembly) Ability to read mechanical drawings and production plans MS Office / ERP systems.

Qualifications & Experience:

Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline.
