About the role

The

Senior Production Manager - Wooden Division

is responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling all wooden product manufacturing activities to ensure timely production, optimum resource utilization, high quality standards, cost efficiency, and compliance with safety and statutory requirements.

The roles and responsibilities will include:

Production Planning & Control Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production plans in line with customer demand and dispatch schedules.
Process & Quality Management

Ensure adherence to approved SOPs, work instructions, and quality standards. Coordinate with Quality team to reduce rejections, rework, and wastage. Drive continuous improvement initiatives in wooden product manufacturing processes.
Team Management

Lead, guide, and motivate supervisors, line leaders, and shop-floor teams. Conduct skill assessment and identify training needs for production staff. Maintain discipline, attendance, and productivity across the division.
Cost & Efficiency Control

Monitor raw material consumption and control wastage. Implement productivity improvement and cost-reduction initiatives. Support budgeting and cost analysis for the wooden division.
Maintenance & Safety

Coordinate with Maintenance team to ensure machine uptime and preventive maintenance. Ensure compliance with safety norms, 5S, and housekeeping standards. Investigate near-miss incidents and implement corrective actions.
Coordination & Reporting

Coordinate with PPC, Purchase, Stores, Quality, and Dispatch teams. Prepare and present production MIS, efficiency reports, and KPIs to management. Support audits (internal, customer, statutory) related to production activities. Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, machines, and materials. Monitor production targets and take corrective actions to minimize delays and bottlenecks.

About you

Previous experience in a Managerial role is required Previous experience in Wooden or related Manufacturing sector is required Diploma / B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering (preferred) 8-15 years of experience in wooden products or similar manufacturing setup Strong knowledge of wooden processing, machining, finishing, and assembly
