Ultrahuman isn't just building wearables; we're building the infrastructure and systems that deliver life-changing technology into our customers' hands. As a

Senior Product Engineer - Inventory and Supply Chain

, you will design and implement the software and processes that ensure our products flow seamlessly from the factory floor (the UltraFactory) to users worldwide. This role embodies first-principles thinking: instead of relying on off-the-shelf solutions, you'll craft innovative systems tailored to Ultrahuman's vertically integrated model (much like how Tesla rethinks supply chain for its vehicles). Your work will directly impact our ability to scale quickly and efficiently while maintaining the utmost quality and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

Build Inventory Management Systems:

Design and develop robust software tools to track inventory levels in real time across manufacturing, warehouses, and distribution channels. Ensure these systems provide clear visibility and predictive analytics to prevent stock-outs or overstock situations.

Integrate Supply Chain Data:

Create integrations between our internal platforms (manufacturing execution systems, order management, etc.) and external partners (suppliers, logistics providers) for end-to-end supply chain transparency. For example, implement APIs or interfaces that feed production plans directly from our sales forecasts and sensor data of manufacturing machinery.

Optimize Supply Chain Processes:

Use a first-principles approach to streamline how materials and products move. Question existing supply chain assumptions and redesign processes (warehouse layout, picking strategies, reorder algorithms) to minimize lead times and costs.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Work closely with Operations, Production, and Hardware teams to understand real-world constraints and needs. Translate those into technical requirements and features - e.g., a tool that alerts engineers of parts shortages or a dashboard for operations to see shipping statuses.

Scalability & Reliability:

Ensure the systems you build are scalable to match Ultrahuman's growth. As demand doubles or new products are introduced, your platform should adapt smoothly. Establish monitoring and quality checks within the software to catch issues (like mismatches in inventory counts or delayed shipments) proactively.

Requirements

Educational Background:

Bachelor's/Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Solid understanding of software engineering principles and systems design.

Experience:

5+ years as a software or product engineer, with at least 2 years working on supply chain, logistics, or inventory management systems. Experience in a manufacturing or hardware company's tech team is a big plus.

Programming & Tech Stack:

Proficiency in relevant programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, or Go) and database systems. Experience with ERP or warehouse management systems (custom or off-the-shelf) and integrating various systems via APIs or messaging.

Data and Analytical Skills:

Comfortable using data to drive decisions. Familiarity with forecasting models, optimization algorithms, or simulation tools for supply chain is beneficial.

Problem-Solving Mindset:

Proven ability to solve complex operational problems with software solutions. You can simplify tangled processes through automation and have a knack for identifying the root cause of inefficiencies.

Preferred Experience:

First-Principles Projects:

History of working on projects where you had to build something novel because existing solutions didn't fit. For example, developing a custom inventory allocator or a bespoke production scheduler.

Domain Knowledge:

Understanding of supply chain concepts like just-in-time inventory, demand forecasting, procurement processes, and how software can optimize these. Certifications (APICS, CPIM) are nice to have but not required.

Full Stack Capability:

Ability to work across the tech stack - from designing a backend service to perhaps tweaking a simple front-end interface for internal users. *

Collaboration:

Experience working in cross-functional teams (with ops, finance, etc.), demonstrating strong communication skills and empathy to understand non-technical constraints and needs.
