. The candidate should be highly skilled in mechanical design and have hands-on experience with a broad range of equipment used in effluent, sewage, and process water treatment plants. You will be responsible for turning process requirements into reliable, cost-effective, and production-ready mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the
design and engineering
of mechanical systems and equipment used in water treatment plants.
Create and manage
detailed 2D/3D CAD drawings
, GA drawings, fabrication drawings, P&IDs, and BOMs.
Work closely with process, electrical, automation, and production teams to deliver fully integrated solutions.
Drive the
design of modular skid systems
for compact plant configurations.
Conduct
component sizing, mechanical calculations
, and selection of motors, pumps, gearboxes, actuators, etc.
Ensure compliance with
industry standards, materials specifications
, and
corrosion resistance requirements
.
Provide technical documentation and support for fabrication, assembly, installation, and testing.
Support
prototype development, factory testing (FAT)
, and occasionally
site commissioning (SAT)
.
Review and approve vendor components, outsourced designs, and custom-fabricated parts.
Mentor and supervise junior engineers, check designs, and ensure project deliverables are met on time.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in
Mechanical Engineering
(Master's degree preferred).
8-15 years
of relevant design experience in water treatment or process equipment.
Strong command of
SolidWorks
,
AutoCAD
, and other mechanical design tools.
In-depth understanding of
pumps, valves, piping
,
steel structures
, and
rotating equipment
.
Ability to interpret
P&ID diagrams
,
process flows
, and convert them into mechanical assemblies.
Familiarity with
materials of construction
like SS304, SS316, MS, FRP, PVC, CPVC, HDPE.
Good knowledge of
welding processes
, fabrication standards, and
sheet metal
design.
Awareness of industry codes: ASME, IS, DIN, ISO, EN, etc.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with
automation-ready systems
(integration with PLC, sensors, actuators).
Exposure to
modular plant design
, compact STP/ETP systems.
Site experience in
commissioning, retrofitting, or refurbishment
of old plants.
Working knowledge of
CFD or FEA
tools is a plus.
Soft Skills:
