We are seeking an experienced Procurement & Sourcing Manager to identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers for a wide range of construction and building materials. The role involves end-to-end sourcing, vendor negotiations, quality control, pricing optimization, and coordination with internal stakeholders to ensure consistent supply at competitive prices.
This position requires strong market knowledge, negotiation skills, and hands-on experience in construction-related procurement within India.
Key Responsibilities
1. Supplier Identification & Development
Source manufacturers, distributors, and wholesalers across India for construction materials including but not limited to:
Build and maintain a strong vendor database across multiple regions.
2. Commercial Negotiation & Cost Optimization
Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and exclusivity where applicable.
Benchmark prices regularly to ensure best market rates.
Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
3. Quality Control & Compliance
Ensure sourced materials meet required quality standards, specifications, and certifications.
Coordinate product samples, testing, and factory inspections when required.
Monitor consistency in quality across repeat orders.
4. Order Management & Coordination
Coordinate with suppliers for production timelines, dispatch readiness, and documentation.
Work closely with internal logistics and finance teams for smooth execution.
Track order status and resolve supply-side issues proactively.
5. Market Intelligence & Product Expansion
Stay updated on new products, innovations, pricing trends, and supplier capabilities.
Recommend new product categories or suppliers based on market demand and feasibility.
Advise management on sourcing strategies and supplier risks.
Minimum 8-12 years of experience in procurement or sourcing of construction/building materials.
Strong understanding of Indian manufacturing clusters and supplier markets.
Proven experience in negotiating large-volume procurement contracts.
Ability to evaluate suppliers on cost, quality, capacity, and reliability.
Willingness to travel extensively within India.
