will be responsible for managing and executing the complete procurement cycle for
EPC, Automation, Water Treatment, and Manufacturing
projects. The role involves vendor development, strategic sourcing, negotiation, cost control, and coordination with engineering, planning, and project teams to ensure timely delivery of quality materials and services within project budgets.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Procurement Planning & Strategy
Develop and execute procurement plans in line with project timelines and budgets.
Identify long-lead items and critical procurement packages early in the project cycle.
Participate in project kickoff meetings to understand technical and commercial requirements.
2. Vendor Development & Management
Identify, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers and subcontractors for EPC, automation, and fabrication works.
Establish and maintain vendor database including local and international suppliers.
Conduct vendor audits along with QA/QC and engineering teams.
3. Tendering & Evaluation
Prepare RFQs/RFPs, manage bidding process, and perform techno-commercial evaluations.
Negotiate terms and conditions, pricing, and delivery schedules with suppliers and service providers.
Ensure compliance with company and client procurement policies.
4. Project Procurement Execution
Issue purchase orders and contracts for materials, equipment, and services.
Coordinate with engineering and planning teams to align material specifications and delivery requirements.
Track procurement status through regular expediting, vendor follow-up, and logistics coordination.
5. Cost & Quality Control
Achieve cost savings through effective sourcing and negotiation.
Ensure material compliance with technical specifications, QA/QC standards, and certifications.
Manage vendor performance and resolve quality or delivery issues.
6. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain procurement logs, cost trackers, and vendor performance records.
Prepare periodic MIS reports on procurement status and budget adherence.
Ensure documentation for audits, inspections, and project handovers.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education:
B.E / B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, or Industrial Engineering.
Experience:
Minimum
7-12 years
of procurement experience in
EPC, Automation, Water Treatment, or Manufacturing
industries.
Strong technical understanding of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation components, automation systems, and industrial materials.
Experience in handling fabrication contracts, equipment supply, and system integrators.
Proficiency in
ERP systems (SAP / Tally / Oracle)
and
MS Office
.
Knowledge of
INCOTERMS
, import/export procedures, and commercial documentation is an advantage.
