Title: Senior Process Engineer

KBR is looking for experienced Process/Systems engineers with FEED and Detailed Engineering background in refining, petrochemicals, and Process Industry. The Engineer would be expected to utilize their vast knowledge in all design aspects, from conceptual studies to detailed engineering.

The candidate must have worked in project teams executing FEED and detailed engineering projects on various modes of execution (LSTK, Cost Reimbursable, etc.). The candidate will strive for quality deliverables and minimize rework while working independently and as part of a team.

This position is based in KBR Gurgaon, India, on a contractual basis.

Job Responsibilities

• To produce Process/Systems deliverables according to a set engineering design criterion utilizing approved engineering procedures, practices, codes, and standards.
• Takes ownership of coordinating design development with various engineering disciplines while managing workload, quality of deliverables, and meeting scheduled due dates.
• Performs Process/Systems engineering activities on the project with minimum technical guidance.
• Must possess demonstrated experience in FEED and Detailed Engineering projects.
• PFDs, UFDs, H&MBs, Design Basis, Process description, Process control philosophy, and simulation experience is desirable. Knowledge of multiple simulation software (Hysys, Pro II, UniSim, Aspen, etc.) will be beneficial.
• Develop and check Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), from preliminary drawings to issue for construction stage.
• Process & Utility Line Sizing for single-phase and 2-phase flow
• Pressure drop Calculations and Pump Hydraulics, Shutoff Head & NPSH calculation
• Hydraulic calculation and sizing of the Control Valve
• Preparation of Equipment and package specification datasheet.
• Develop Design Pressure and Temperature Diagrams (DPDTs), including analyzing and determining piping systems design conditions.
• Preparation of Instrument datasheets for Control Valves, FEs, ROs, on-off valves, etc.
• Preparation and development of various lists & summaries such as Equipment List, Line List, Utility Summary, Effluent Summary, Chemical and Catalyst Summary, Alarm and Trip Set-point List, Nozzle summary, etc.
• Preparation and development of Cause-and-Effect Diagrams
• Conversant in PSV sizing according to API 520, 521 & 526 and must independently develop relief load narratives, relief load calculations, and relief valve datasheets.
• Conversant with Vendor Data Review.
• Participate in Plot Plan, 3D Model, and P&ID Reviews
• Participate in safety reviews (HAZID, HAZOP & SIL) and review compliance with applicable safety and quality standards.
• Review of Isometrics, Plot plan, GA drawings, and layouts.

Job Qualification & Knowledge

• A Chemical Engineering degree from a recognized college or university
• 20-25 years of experience in Process/Systems activities in FEED and Detailed Engineering projects
• Knowledge of applicable industry and regulatory standards, design requirements, and guidelines
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

Capability to collaborate with other engineering disciplines and stakeholders
