Job Purpose

Provide support to Shell's OUs by updating the drawings through 2D/3D drawing management systems and by converting the laser scan into intelligent 3D model.

Candidate primarilty works on SPI,AutoCAD,Microstation, SP3D,E3D

Business Dimensions

The role is expected to be the expert in instrumentation designer role and closely engage with an OU in updating the technical specification & suggest improvement solutions for improving the overall quality of work. Also provide training and guidance to other drafters while replicating best practices from stakeholders and partner organizations.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Understand the completeness and consistency across the entire project for improving quality and reducing rework
  • Understand and interpret the corrections & redline mark ups done in the drawings.
  • Troubleshoot the modelling related errors & Implement solution on database related to admin works can be added advantage.
  • Capability to understand Project specific Drafting procedure complying to quality procedures of Client.
  • Conversant in developing Cable Routing Plan, Tray Layout, Hook Up Drawings, Instrument Location Layouts, Loop & Logic Diagrams, System Architecture Drawings, Graphic Drawings etc and Cable Tray sizing and loading. Etc in SPI & AutoCAD
  • Exceptional knowledge in Index, Wiring, Hook up and Loop and Logic Diagram Modules of Aveva Instrumentation or SPI, AutoCAD
  • 3D model, reports and 2D drawing generations, handling of review tools such as Naviswork freedom/ manager, smart plant review.
  • Strong understanding of fundamentals of mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation, civil structural and process discipline required for Plant 3D model creation Proficiency in SP3D/AVEVA 3D modeling with understanding of drafting and quality check process.
  • Hands on experience in conversion of laser scan into SP3D/Aveva E3D in instrumentation domain.
  • Has extensive experience in working SP3D models as instrumentation modeller and designing 2D Instrumentation drawings in SPI/AutoCAD
  • SPI - Core knowledge in Equipment creation/update/ RLM comment updation/ As built update.

Job Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Education/Experience:

Instrumentation Engineering Degree / Diploma with / 5-9 years of work experience in
  • Oil & Gas/Petrochemical Industry - operating assets and/or a varied range of brownfield projects.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience as Instrumentation Designer in SPI / SP3D
  • Experienced with the working systems and environment of Aveva/Hexagon systems used in the execution of projects preferably in Oil & Gas industry.
  • Knowledge in Information Management and Integrated Engineering Systems processes and principles
  • Familiar with international codes, standards, recommended practices, and knowledge level in Shell Dep will be added advantageous.
  • Instrumentation design & technical disciplinary drawings in design, drafting & engineering firms/ consultancy firms/ plant environments/industry past the professional degree/diploma.
  • Result oriented with goal setting for self and team.
  • Leadership skills and team engagement.

  • Strong interpersonal leadership skills are critical due to the requirement for effective communication of complex issues across multiple offices and teams.
Expertise in pipe modeling and facility layouts.
