Your impact:

As Senior Principal Software Architect - AI Applications, you will be a deeply hands-on technical leader and architectural partner responsible for shaping how OpenText builds AI-powered products and solutions. This role is for a builder who stays close to code, guides teams through real design decisions, and helps translate emerging AI capabilities into scalable, reliable systems.

You will work directly with architects and development teams to design, review, and improve AI solutions, including RAG-based applications, agentic workflows, and multi-agent orchestration. You are expected to prototype, create POCs and starter implementations, and help teams adopt strong end-to-end AI development practices, from prompt design and evaluation to observability and system tuning.

This role requires strong enterprise experience, technical credibility, and the ability to influence without direct authority.

What the role offers:

Designing and evolving AI solutions and products using modern RAG and agentic architectures Building and reviewing agent-based systems, including orchestration, tool use, and agent-to-agent interactions Creating hands-on prototypes, POCs, and reference implementations to guide development teams Advising teams on prompt design, evaluation strategies, and observability patterns Identifying gaps in existing AI solutions and helping teams refactor or improve them Working closely with architects and developers to translate AI patterns into production-ready designs Staying current with AI trends, tools, and frameworks and applying them pragmatically Explaining complex architectural decisions clearly to technical and non-technical audiences

What you need to succeed:

15+ years of software engineering experience, including senior architect or principal-level roles Proven, hands-on experience building enterprise AI solutions end to end Strong understanding of the full AI lifecycle, including development, prompt management, evaluation, observability, and continuous iteration Deep hands-on experience with LangGraph and Google ADK, with awareness of emerging agentic frameworks and orchestration approaches Familiarity with agent builders and studio-style solutions emerging in the market Strong working knowledge of cloud AI platforms, with Google Vertex AI experience a significant plus Demonstrated ability to use AI-powered code assistants and modern developer tools to accelerate prototyping and solution development Practical experience designing modern RAG pipelines and agentic architectures Strong coding experience, primarily in Python, with working knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript and Java Ability to guide and influence multiple teams through architectural leadership without direct authority Curious, hands-on, and motivated by learning, experimentation, and explaining complex ideas clearly Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
