Company: MercerDescription:We are seeking a talented individual to join our Data Engineering team at Mercer. This role will be based in Gurgaon/ Mumbai. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.Senior Principal Engineer - Data EngineringWe will count on you to:xc2xb7 Design, develop, and maintain scalable and robust data pipelines on Databricks.xc2xb7 Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.xc2xb7 Optimize and troubleshoot existing data pipelines for performance and reliability.xc2xb7 Ensure data quality and integrity across various data sources.xc2xb7 Implement data security and compliance best practices.xc2xb7 Monitor data pipeline performance and conduct necessary maintenance and updates.xc2xb7 Document data pipeline processes and technical specifications.xc2xb7 Use analytical skills to solve complex problems associated with database development and management.xc2xb7 Working with other teams, such as data scientists, business analysts, and Qlik Developers, to identify organizational needs and design effective solutions.xc2xb7 Providing technical leadership and guidance to the team. This may include code reviews, mentoring,and helping team members troubleshoot technical issues.xc2xb7 Aligning the data engineering strategy with the wider organizational strategy. This might involve deciding which projects to prioritize, making technology choices, and planning for the team's growth and development.xc2xb7 Ensuring that all data engineering activities are compliant with relevant laws and regulations, and that data is stored and processed securely.xc2xb7 Keeping up-to-date with new technologies and methodologies in the field of data engineering, and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the team.xc2xb7 Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, explaining data infrastructure, strategies, and systems in an understandable way.What you need to have:xc2xb7 Bachelors degree (BE/B.TECH) in Computer Science/IT/ECE etc. MIS or related qualification. A masters degree is always helpfulxc2xb7 3-5 years of experience in data engineeringxc2xb7 Proficiency with Databricks or AWS (Glue, S3), Phython and Sparkxc2xb7 Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databasesxc2xb7 Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL processesxc2xb7 Excellent problem-solving and analytical skillsxc2xb7 Effective Communication SkillsWhat makes you stand out?xc2xb7 Exposure to any BI tool like Qlik(Preference tool), Power BI, Tableau etc.xc2xb7 Hands on experience on SQL OR PL-SQLxc2xb7 Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Kafka)xc2xb7 Agile, JIRA and SDLC process knowledgexc2xb7 Teamwork and collaboration skillsxc2xb7 Strong Quantitative and Analytical skillsWhy join our team:
