3) Position: Principal Product Manager - Pre-owned vehicle (POV) Business Reporting to the Head of Data Science and Engineering, Growth Businesses & Functions (GBF).
Job Introduction
The Principal Product Manager is responsible for building, growing and leading our Digital Product agenda by delivering digital products to drive tech led Pre-owned vehicle business. The Product owner will spearhead our digital products by identifying digital and AI opportunities to improve customer experience, drive business growth and profit for the company.
He/she will interact with CXO leaders of the company to identify, prioritize and deliver a portfolio of digital and AI products. He/she will design the digital products, partner with the engineering teams and vendor partners to build these, deploy the same in market and grow the customer experience / business performance by continually improving the product functionality and usability to meet the evolving need of customers and business teams.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Product strategy, roadmap, user and competition research
a. Conduct user interviews to identify problems, generate new ideas and possible solutions
b. Work with business teams to prioritise customer requests for new features
c. Refine requirements basis user research, and customer requests to write the product roadmap for both existing and future customers
d. Find new areas based on customer interactions, working with partners, and observing trends in the domain
e. Work with business teams to define broad feature areas for near term roadmap
f. Work with different teams to identify bottlenecks and improve processes.
g. Define the user experience flow for large feature groups
h. Mentor and guide PMs and designers to identify areas of improving user experience
i. Work with partners and expert outside to help in UX improvements
j. Study competition, deconstruct their features and user experiences
k. Stay on top of trends and new areas of competitive/ adjacent products for building long term roadmap
2. User experience and design sprints
a. Lead design teams to ideate on user experiences
b. Review user stories and create wireframes and mock-ups
c. Validate new flows and design ideas with users
3. Development cycle
a. Lead designers to finalize UI/UX for owned features
b. Lead engineers to build features and fix development bottlenecks
c. Design and Plan demos with relevant teams for early feedback
d. Share previews with customers for their feedback, and regular updates with business teams
e. Lead Product Managers to work with engineers and create a thorough test plan for new features and adjacent areas that would be affected
f. Work with senior engineering leaders to identify opportunities for improving development process and coordination between teams
g. Conduct detailed customer interactions to identify issues and opportunities before extensive development
h. Guide PMs to create feedback frameworks, and initiate activities for successful launches
4. Release and feedback
a. Lead design teams in UI reviews and incorporate any changes
b. Oversight of Agile teams consisting of engineering, data science and business teams to plan release dates, launch features on time, with utmost quality
c. Add relevant metrics and create dashboards for feature usage
d. Create a plan for feature improvements and update product roadmap
e. Orchestrate the roll-out of complex and interconnected product features
f. Create a robust communication forum for discussions between business, engineering, and design team for continuous improvement of product quality and product usage
g. Create a sense of excitement about new capabilities and improvements within the company and with customers
h. Conduct online and offline sessions to ensure customers are aware of the features and use them the right way
i. Spot patterns of poor or excellent usability from metrics
j. Interact regularly with customers to understand how our products can be improved
Job Requirements
1) Ability Work closely with Product owners/managers, Senior Engineers, Technical Architects, UI/UX developers, Data Analysts, Data Scientists, Data Engineers and Business Analysts
2) Comfortable to work in cross-functional team and collaborate with peers during the project lifecycle
3) Open to travel based on the project and teams locations.
Qualifications
1) Degree in Computer Science or equivalent level of technical knowledge gained through an alternative qualification or experience.
2) An MBA from a tier 1 institution would be an advantage
Experience
1) 12 - 15 years of work experience with at least 2- 3 years in a product leadership role designing and implementing digital products
2) Start-up experience is a plus
