Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Public Relations Associate / Senior PR Specialist to protect, strengthen, and elevate our brand reputation in a competitive and regulatory-sensitive industry.
This role requires a communications professional with proven expertise in reputation management, crisis communication, media relations, and brand storytelling--as well as the ability to support creative digital PR campaigns, influencer activations, and strategic communications.
This is a remote or hybrid role, open to qualified candidates globally who can work independently while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Brand Reputation and Trust Building
Develop and execute proactive PR strategies that build trust, credibility, and brand authority in the wellness and nutraceutical sector.
Ensure all communications align with scientific integrity, regulatory standards, and brand values.
Monitor media and public sentiment, identifying potential risks and responding with appropriate messaging.
Amplify core wellness narratives through earned media, digital storytelling, and thought leadership campaigns.
2. Crisis Communication and Reputation Protection
Lead PR response strategies during product-related concerns, misinformation incidents, or regulatory issues.
Draft official statements, Q&As, press releases, and media responses to ensure clear and transparent communication.
Develop and maintain crisis communication protocols and provide training to key internal stakeholders.
Act as a point of contact for media during high-stakes scenarios.
3. Strategic Intelligence and Reporting
Conduct SWOT and competitor analyses to support strategic brand positioning.
Provide actionable insights to leadership teams based on media trends, consumer sentiment, and regulatory developments.
Prepare executive-level reports on PR performance, campaign effectiveness, and reputation metrics.
4. PR Governance and Compliance
Maintain a structured archive of campaigns, media coverage, product communications, and regulatory statements.
Ensure messaging is compliant with nutraceutical marketing regulations (e.g., FDA, Health Canada, EFSA, TGA).
Collaborate with scientific and regulatory teams to ensure accuracy in claims and communications.
5. Media Relations and Influencer Engagement
Build and nurture relationships with health journalists, medical writers, influencers, and relevant media outlets.
Pitch science-based wellness stories and secure top-tier earned media coverage.
Coordinate press events, interviews, and thought leadership opportunities for company executives.
Oversee influencer collaborations and PR campaigns designed to strengthen brand awareness and trust.
6. Brand Voice and Digital PR
Collaborate with the marketing team to amplify brand messaging across TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube Shorts, podcasts, and other channels.
Represent the brand confidently at media appearances, online events, or interviews.
Identify and pursue 360 PR opportunities, including influencer partnerships, thought leadership, and media collaborations.
Requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
7-10+ years of professional experience in PR, preferably within healthcare, nutraceuticals, pharmaceuticals, wellness, or life sciences.
Proven track record in crisis communication, reputation management, and strategic media relations.
Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance standards in health and wellness industries.
Excellent writing, editing, and presentation skills, with the ability to craft accurate, credible, and persuasive communications.
Proficiency in PR and monitoring tools such as Meltwater, Cision, Brandwatch, and Google Alerts.
Demonstrated experience in handling sensitive and scientific communication with precision and professionalism.
Preferred Skills and Attributes:
Established media network within health, science, and wellness sectors.
Experience representing brands and executives in high-stakes interviews or events.
Ability to distill complex scientific and regulatory information into clear, public-facing messaging.
Strong analytical skills to interpret data, public sentiment, and industry trends.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
Familiarity with AI-driven marketing tools and modern digital PR strategies.
