The Senior Power Electronics Engineer will play a critical role in designing and optimizing motor control drives for electric marine propulsion systems. The candidate will manage the complete design lifecycle, ensuring controllers are robust, efficient, and compliant with demanding marine standards. This role involves close collaboration with embedded teams, hardware integration, PCB design, testing, and validation of high-voltage, high-power motor control systems.
Responsibilities:
Lead the design, analysis, and simulation of high-power, high-voltage motor control drives.
Select and integrate critical power components, including IGBTs, MOSFETs, gate drivers, and passive components, ensuring thermal management and reliability.
Oversee and guide PCB layout for power stages to minimize parasitic effects, maximize efficiency, and ensure EMI/EMC compliance.
Work closely with the Embedded team to define and optimize control loop parameters, including current, speed, and torque control algorithms.
Develop and execute rigorous testing procedures for power electronics hardware.
Ensure all designs comply with relevant industrial and marine safety and performance standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align power electronics design with overall system performance goals.
Requirements:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in the design and development of motor control drives.
Expertise in power topology selection and high-voltage/high-current power switching devices (IGBT, SiC, GaN).
Proficiency with simulation tools for power electronics design.
Strong knowledge of thermal management techniques for power modules.
Proven track record in designing high-performance and reliable motor controllers. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and teamwork skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced R&D environment.
