Work Description:
We need one senior contractor who can lead Power BI Embedded for a customer-facing SaaS applications. This is a hands-on architecture and build role, not advisory only
Workstream : Power BI Embedded (External, SaaS)
Implement "Embed for your customers" (App Owns Data); service principals, embed token lifecycle.
Capacity planning and monitoring; A or F SKUs, performance and cost optimisation for high concurrency.
Multi-tenant security; robust Row-Level Security (RLS) and tenant isolation patterns.
Integration and automation; Power BI REST API and JavaScript SDK for embedding and user/admin automation.
DevOps; CI/CD for workspace creation and report cloning to streamline tenant onboarding.
Requirements
8-10+ years in data architecture/engineering, including 3-5+ years leading delivery; or equivalent experience
Proven Power BI Embedded delivery for SaaS using App Owns Data.
Strong SQL, PySpark, and Python.
Solid licensing and capacity knowledge; A SKUs and Fabric F SKUs.
Able to produce clear architecture and build specs for both engineers and stakeholders.
Nice to have
Broader Microsoft Azure services experience; Purview, Entra ID, Key Vault, Azure DevOps, Azure Monitor.
Microsoft AI services such as Azure AI Foundry, Copilot Studio
Strong client-facing skills; able to run technical discovery workshops, translate requirements into clear solution designs, and communicate trade-offs and risks to non-technical stakeholders.
