Job Description

• 4+ years of professional software development experience
• 3+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language
• 2+ years of experience contributing to the system design or architecture (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead OR leading an engineering team

• BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with database core engine software development
• Advanced knowledge and understanding of PostgreSQL source code and use cases
• Minimum of 3 years of experience working with open source communities

Job summary The Amazon RDS Open Source team is looking for a remote PostgreSQL Engineer to provide PostgreSQL internals and PostgreSQL Global Development Group (PGDG) community expertise. You will join a world-class team of engineers collaborating in the open with the PostgreSQL project. This team works directly with the upstream PGDG community to translate customer needs into PostgreSQL features. Amazon RDS Open Source is an exciting area of innovation for AWS, where customers can pick their choice of Open Source Relational Database engine and run it in cloud, and be completely hands off. We are helping customers have performance, availability and durability, with managed benefits of RDS. At Amazon/AWS, we take databases to their limits.
