We are looking for a

Senior Platform Engineering Lead

to architect, build, and scale highly reliable backend systems that support large-scale, customer-facing digital platforms. This role blends deep hands-on engineering with technical ownership and team leadership, making it ideal for engineers who enjoy solving complex distributed systems problems while elevating engineering standards across teams.
You will play a key role in shaping system architecture, driving performance and reliability, and mentoring engineers to deliver secure, cost-efficient, and scalable solutions in production environments.(Female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.)

Key Responsibilities
Backend & Platform Engineering
Design and develop high-performance backend services and APIs capable of supporting millions of transactions and users.
Architect distributed systems with a strong focus on scalability, fault tolerance, and cost optimization.
Translate complex business and technical requirements into robust, production-ready solutions.
Own critical backend components end to end--from design and implementation to deployment and monitoring.
Technical Leadership & Ownership
Lead technical decision-making for platform architecture, system design, and backend frameworks.
Drive engineering best practices around code quality, testing, observability, and secure development.
Conduct in-depth code and design reviews to ensure maintainability, performance, and scalability.
Guide small engineering pods or feature teams to deliver high-quality outcomes on time.
Reliability, Performance & Security
Ensure high availability, reliability, and resilience of backend systems in cloud environments.
Identify performance bottlenecks and lead optimization efforts across services and infrastructure.
Implement secure coding practices and ensure systems meet security and compliance standards.
Establish monitoring, logging, and alerting to proactively detect and resolve production issues.
Mentorship & Team Development
Mentor engineers by providing technical guidance, feedback, and career development support.
Foster a strong engineering culture focused on ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Support hiring and onboarding efforts by helping assess and develop backend engineering talent.

Required Qualifications

Experience:

4-7 years of professional experience building and scaling backend or platform systems.

Backend Expertise:

Strong proficiency in Python or Java, with exposure to high-performance frameworks (Go experience is a plus).

Distributed Systems:

Hands-on experience with scalable, distributed architectures and asynchronous systems.

Databases & Messaging:

Experience working with NoSQL databases and messaging systems such as MongoDB, Kafka, or similar technologies.

Cloud & Infrastructure:

Practical experience deploying and operating services on cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.

Systems Knowledge:

Strong understanding of Linux-based systems, networking fundamentals, and backend performance tuning.

Nice to Have
Experience with stream or batch data processing frameworks.
Familiarity with observability tools, search platforms, and logging pipelines.
Exposure to cost-optimization strategies for cloud-native systems.
