Job Summary:
The Senior Plant Electrician will be responsible for overseeing all electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work within the plant. This role ensures smooth operation of electrical systems, equipment, and machinery, adhering to safety standards and minimizing downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect, maintain, and repair electrical systems, control panels, motors, and wiring in the plant.
Diagnose electrical faults and perform timely repairs to prevent production delays.
Install new electrical equipment, wiring, and components as required.
Supervise junior electricians and provide technical guidance during maintenance activities.
Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety regulations, and company maintenance policies.
Maintain accurate maintenance logs and report equipment performance issues.
Work with engineers and maintenance teams to improve equipment efficiency and safety.
Perform preventive maintenance to minimize breakdowns.
Assist in planning and implementing electrical upgrades or modifications.
Qualifications & Skills:
Diploma or ITI in Electrical Engineering (Bachelor's degree preferred).
Valid electrician license or certification (if required by local regulations).
Minimum 7-10 years of experience in industrial/plant maintenance.
Strong knowledge of electrical schematics, PLC systems, and industrial automation.
Familiarity with generators, switchgear, transformers, and control circuits.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure and during emergency maintenance.
Additional Requirements:
Willingness to work in shifts or on-call for urgent maintenance.
Knowledge of safety protocols (LOTO, PPE usage, etc.).
Experience in heavy industries such as cement, steel, or manufacturing plants is an advantage.
