Position Summary:


The Senior Accounts Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the accounting functions of the plant, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with statutory requirements, and maintaining the financial health of the organization. This position plays a key role in financial planning, cost control, and audit management, directly contributing to the financial decision-making process.

Key Responsibilities:



Financial Reporting and Analysis:

Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (Balance Sheet, P&L, Cash Flow) for the plant. Conduct variance analysis between actual vs. budgeted/forecasted financials and provide insights for corrective actions. Prepare and ensure timely submission of tax returns (GST, TDS, income tax, etc.) and ensure compliance with local and national tax laws. Provide financial insights for management review and strategic planning.

Cost Control and Budgeting:

Lead the preparation of the plant's annual budget, and work with various departments to forecast revenue, costs, and capital expenditure. Monitor and control operational costs in alignment with budgeted goals. Analyze cost structures and recommend improvements to optimize profitability, particularly with respect to raw material procurement, labor, and overheads.

Internal Controls and Compliance:

Oversee the implementation and maintenance of robust internal controls to safeguard the company's assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations. Ensure adherence to statutory compliance and coordinate internal and external audits. Work closely with external auditors to facilitate annual audits and other statutory audits.

Cash Flow Management:

Manage and monitor the company's cash flow, ensuring adequate working capital to meet operational needs. Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely payments and collections. Negotiate with banks for optimal working capital limits, loan facilities, and trade credit terms.

Inventory and Fixed Asset Management:

Monitor and manage inventory accounting, ensuring accuracy in stock records and valuation. Oversee the fixed asset register, including capitalization, depreciation, and disposal processes. Provide insights into the plant's capital expenditure, assisting in financial feasibility studies for new projects.

Team Leadership and Development:

Lead and mentor the accounts team, ensuring smooth day-to-day accounting operations. Conduct training and development programs to enhance the team's skills in accounting, ERP systems, and financial reporting. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability within the finance department.

ERP and System Implementation:

Ensure the efficient utilization of the ERP system for accounting, finance, and inventory management. Work closely with the IT team to implement system upgrades or new features in the ERP that enhance financial tracking and reporting. Provide technical expertise in the use of financial software tools for reporting and analysis.

Qualifications:



Education:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Commerce (B.Com/M.Com), Finance, or Accounting.

Experience:

Minimum 8-10 years of experience in plant accounting and finance, with at least 5 years in a managerial role, preferably in manufacturing or steel industry. Hands-on experience in financial accounting, costing, statutory compliance, and internal audits. Strong understanding of financial and management accounting, budgeting, and cost management.

Skills:

In-depth knowledge of Indian tax laws (GST, TDS, Income Tax, etc.) and other statutory requirements. Expertise in financial analysis, forecasting, and variance analysis. Strong working knowledge of any ERP systems (Tally or equivalent). Excellent leadership and team management skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Strong communication and presentation skills. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other financial reporting tools.
