The Planning & Coordination Engineer will oversee project planning, scheduling, and coordination between office and site. The role includes
finalization of drawings (in AutoCAD), scheduling, material planning, and progress monitoring
while ensuring smooth execution at site. The candidate should be capable of managing multiple stakeholders -- architects, consultants, site teams, and clients -- with minimum 15 years' experience in similar civil contracting projects.
Prepare baseline schedules, WBS, and critical path analysis using
Primavera/MS Project/Excel
.
Develop weekly/monthly look-ahead plans aligned with site requirements.
Monitor project progress, highlight delays, and suggest recovery plans.
2. Drawing Review & AutoCAD Coordination
Receive, review, and finalize drawings in
AutoCAD
in coordination with architects/consultants.
Release approved drawings to site teams with proper revision control.
Maintain updated drawing registers and ensure only latest versions are issued.
Mark up construction sequences and clarifications directly on CAD drawings for site reference.
3. Site Coordination & Support
Coordinate daily/weekly planning with site supervisors and engineers.
Schedule works considering
brownfield project restrictions
(shutdown windows, access, factory safety).
Conduct periodic site visits to check progress vs. plan and provide corrective inputs.
4. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain complete documentation of drawings, revisions, RFIs, approvals, and MOMs.
Provide inputs to QS/contracts team for billing and claims.
Prepare MIS reports, dashboards, and progress charts for management and client.
5. Stakeholder Coordination
Liaise with architects, consultants, clients, and subcontractors to resolve design and planning issues.
Coordinate with procurement and store for material requirement planning.
Support project manager in review meetings and client interactions.
Qualifications & Skills
B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Civil Engineering.
Minimum 15 years' experience
in civil construction projects (industrial/factory/building projects).
Strong knowledge of project planning software (Primavera/MS Project/Excel).
Proficiency in AutoCAD
(mandatory) for drawing review, mark-ups, and revisions.
Sound understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and industrial safety norms.
Excellent communication and coordination skills.
