Overseeing the safe and effective use of pharmaceuticals, including inventory control, ordering, storage, and secure dispensing.
Staff Supervision:
Leading and developing pharmacy staff, including pharmacy technicians and other pharmacists, to ensure efficient and high-quality service.
Clinical Consultation:
Acting as a drug information resource for healthcare professionals and patients, advising on drug selection, dosage, interactions, and side effects.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensuring all pharmacy practices adhere to federal, state, and local regulations, including proper record-keeping and handling of controlled substances.
Process Improvement:
Identifying and leading projects to improve operational processes, such as formulary development, patient care programs, and waste minimization.
Patient Education & Care:
Counseling patients on their medications, providing patient education materials, and collaborating with other healthcare providers on patient treatment plans.
Quality Assurance:
Investigating medication errors, contributing to the development of clinical guidelines, and monitoring prescribing patterns to prevent adverse events.
Budget & Cost Control:
Managing budgets, controlling drug expenditures, and monitoring drug usage to ensure cost-effective use of resources.
