Team supports Oracle databases/ Hadoop clusters and Mongodb clusters

Who are you

  • Support all Cisco IOT control center databases built and operational, including:
  • All database systems in the data-center in a 24x7 environment
  • Define Oracle database architecture and strategies to meet application availability, scalability and performance requirement.
  • Regularly review the health of the databases and ensure it is operating optimally.
  • Contribute to improving and creating DBA policies, procedures and standards.
  • Provide technical guidance for integration, testing, design and planning for new major, large scale production systems/databases.
  • Support SQL Performance tuning and backup and restore activities.
  • Solve all database related problems and resource management.
  • Provide database support to all development/qa team members.
  • Hadoop cluster administration and support
  • Mongodb cluster administration
What you will do:

Strengths Needed to Be Successful in this Role:
  • Very good experience on oracle databases on oracle 19c, oracle 13c
  • Experience: Established track record of high availability for critical web-based production database in a 24x7 environment.
  • Technical knowledge: Solid experience as an Oracle production and development DBA in a 24x7 environment with extensive SQL tuning knowledge.
  • Self-starter: Must be capable of building and running these systems on their own, but work well in team environment as well. Demonstrated initiatives which improve service availability.
  • Ability to learn and support Hadoop CDP clusters and MongoDB
  • Willing to provide on call support on rotation during weekends and after hours.
Profile of Skills, Education and Experience:
  • BE/BTech or MS/M Tech in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related disciplines preferred, or equivalent years of experience
  • Database admin at mission critical web service company with high availability.
  • 5 to 10 years experience with 24x7 Production and development databases mainly Oracle databases.
  • Solid experience with Oracle partitioning, Transportable table spaces Proficient in SQL. PL/SQL and shell/perl scripting
  • Shareplex experience for replication preferred
  • Hadoop experience using CDP clusters is preferred
  • Strong English speaking, writing and communication skills

When available, the salary range posted for this position reflects the projected hiring range for new hire, full-time salaries in U.S. locations, not including equity or benefits. For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. Hiring ranges for sales positions include base and incentive compensation target. Individual pay is determined by the candidate\'s hiring location and additional factors, including but not limited to skillset, experience, and relevant education, certifications, or training. Applicants may not be eligible for the full salary range based on their U.S. hiring location. U.S. employees have to quality medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance and numerous wellbeing offerings. Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday, plus a day off for their birthday. Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco pays at the standard rate of 1% of incentive target for each 1% revenue attainment against the quota up to 100%. Once performance exceeds 100% quota attainment, incentive rates may increase up to five times the standard rate with no cap on incentive compensation. For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
