Patient care and examination

: Conduct thorough eye exams to assess visual acuity, color vision, and overall eye health. Perform refraction tests to identify and correct refractive errors like myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism. Prescribe and fit corrective lenses, including glasses and contact lenses. Diagnose and manage a wide range of eye conditions and diseases.

Advanced diagnostics

: Operate and manage advanced equipment such as slit-lamp machines, tonometers (for intraocular pressure), and fundus cameras. Conduct diagnostic tests like visual field testing, corneal topography, and optic nerve scanning (e.g., OCT). Perform pupil dilation for comprehensive eye health assessments.

Operational management

: Oversee the day-to-day management of the optometry office. Ensure clinical equipment is functioning correctly and arrange for maintenance or repair. Manage staff, including scheduling and communication, to ensure efficient patient flow.

Leadership and mentorship

: Lead and mentor a team of junior optometrists and support staff. Ensure all staff members provide high-quality patient care and adhere to company policies.

Professional and administrative

: Keep accurate and detailed patient records. Train patients on proper contact lens wear and care. Refer patients to other medical professionals, such as ophthalmologists, when surgery or more specialized care is needed
