Key Responsibilities
Conduct full eye examinations including refraction, slit-lamp, IOP, biometry, OCT, perimetry, and other diagnostic tests.
Assist in pre- and post-operative work-ups for cataract and other surgeries.
Provide clear patient education and counselling on spectacles, contact lenses, drops, and surgery preparation.
Identify urgent cases and escalate to ophthalmologists.
Maintain accurate EMR documentation.
Mentor and guide junior optometrists and interns.
Ensure hygiene, safety, and daily equipment checks.
Support hospital outreach camps and community eye care programs.
Requirements
Bachelor's in Optometry (B.Optom); Master's preferred.
5+ years of clinical experience in a hospital/eye care setup.
Strong skills in refraction, diagnostics, and patient communication.
Fluency in Malayalam and English.
