Founded in 2022 by Gaurav Mittal, Himanshu Agrawal and Puneet Sharma, the startup is a B2B digital lending and Card Management Platform. Vegapay's vision is to liberate financial institutions and fintech enterprises from every technical barrier which hinders offering a lending programme.

Gaurav Mittal - Gaurav is the Co-Founder and the CEO of the company. He is having more than 20 yrs of experience and has worked with organisations like Zeta, Matchmove, MasterCard, Amex and ICICI Bank. Himanshu Agrawal - Himanshu is the Co-Founder and the Head of Technology. He is from IIT Kanpur and has more than 14 yrs of experience working with organisations like Amazon and DE Shaw. Puneet Sharma - Puneet is the Co-Founder and the Head of Product. He is from IIT Roorkee and has more than 10 years of experience working with organisations like BharatPe, Avail Finance
The Hats You'll Wear
Reconciliation ManagementOversee daily and periodic reconciliations across Credit Card and UPI transaction systems.
Perform end-to-end GL accounting reconciliation, including suspense, settlement, and fee accounts.
Manage GEFU/TTUM file preparation and validation for settlement postings.
Coordinate with internal tech and finance teams to resolve breaks, mismatches, and exceptions.
Dispute and Chargeback HandlingLead the dispute resolution and chargeback process for credit card and UPI transactions in line with network and regulatory guidelines.
Liaise with partner banks, card networks, and payment gateways to ensure timely resolution.
Track dispute TATs, chargeback trends, and operational metrics for continuous improvement.
Banking Client ManagementAct as the operational SPOC for banking partners, ensuring SLAs are met and issues are escalated/resolved promptly.
Support clients in audits, reconciliations, and monthly/quarterly reviews.
Control & ComplianceEnsure adherence to RBI, NPCI, and network regulations governing settlements, chargebacks, and reconciliations.
Maintain proper documentation, process controls, and audit readiness.
Recommend and implement process automation or improvement opportunities.
Reporting & AnalysisPrepare and review daily operational dashboards, exception reports, and reconciliation status summaries.
Support management in MIS reporting, operational KPIs, and root cause analysis for recurring issues.
The Perfect Fit
5-8 years of experience in fintech or banking operations with hands-on exposure to card operations, UPI, or payment systems.
Strong background in reconciliation, accounting entries, and dispute management.
Prior experience with Banking GL systems, settlement files, or NPCI frameworks is a plus.
Graduate/Postgraduate in Commerce, Finance, or related field.
Additional certifications (e.g., CA Inter, CMA, or equivalent) preferred.
Deep understanding of cards and UPI transaction lifecycle.
Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and reconciliation tools.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Ability to manage cross-functional coordination between tech, product and banking partners.
