Senior Network & Security Engineer

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Network & Security Engineer to design, implement, and maintain a secure, high-availability enterprise network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of advanced routing, switching, and security technologies, including hands-on expertise with Fortinet FortiGate firewalls.

Key Responsibilities

Network Design & Upgrades:

Plan, schedule, and implement network upgrades, migrations, and expansions in line with organizational growth and security standards.

Documentation & Processes:

Create and maintain detailed documentation for network topology, hardware inventory, monitoring systems, and operational procedures.

Troubleshooting & Maintenance:

Diagnose and resolve connectivity issues; perform firmware upgrades, configuration changes, and scheduled backups to ensure optimal performance.

Global Network Support:

Collaborate with external vendors and internal teams to maintain high system availability and business continuity across multiple sites and data centers.

Monitoring & Operations:

Proactively monitor and maintain all network equipment--including routers, switches, LAN devices, Wi-Fi controllers, and SD-WAN appliances--to ensure stability and compliance with best practices.

Security Management:

Configure, manage, and maintain Fortinet FortiGate firewalls, including policy creation, VPN setup, intrusion prevention, and security event analysis.

Technology Integration:

Oversee data-center (DC) networking technologies and Wi-Fi infrastructure (e.g., Ruckus controllers), Cisco/HP switches, and Cisco Nexus platforms.

SD-WAN Administration:

Support and manage VeloCloud or Cisco SD-WAN deployments to optimize connectivity and performance.

Capacity & Lifecycle Management:

Plan for network capacity, obsolescence, and scheduled maintenance, ensuring infrastructure meets current and future requirements.

Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience). 5+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise networking and security engineering. Proven expertise with Fortinet FortiGate firewalls (configuration, policies, VPN, logging, and troubleshooting). Strong knowledge of routing and switching technologies, including Cisco and HP enterprise switches and Cisco Nexus platforms. Experience with Wi-Fi technologies and wireless controller management (Ruckus preferred). Familiarity with data center network design, redundancy, and high-availability solutions. Working knowledge of SD-WAN technologies such as VeloCloud or Cisco SD-WAN. Cisco CCNP certification preferred; Fortinet NSE certification a plus. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a global team environment.
