Job Description

The ideal candidates will be able to hit the ground running with a variety of projects, working both alone and as part of the team.

Key Responsibilities:

o Design and build component-based applications in a web/internet delivery environment.


o Work on new and existing applications along with enhancements to websites, web applications and mobile applications.


o Design, develop and support of applications using current and new development technologies.


o Scope, implement, test and deploy new features and versions of core applications, databases and utilities.


o Perform hands-on coding and designing of solutions that meet our business goals.


o Raise issues during sprint development cycle


o Contribute to continuous improvement through retrospectives


o Work with Product Managers to collect and document user requirements, development of user stories/tasks, producing estimates for each change.


o Assist with providing third-level support when appropriate.


o Write design technical documents, manuals and other documentation on the status, operation and maintenance of software.


o Completes all special projects and other duties as assigned.


o Accurate time tracking

Qualifications

Essential Requirements:

o Commercial experience of server-side Java 8-11 OR C# / .Net Core (likely to be gained from at least 2 years of professional experience), certification would be beneficial


o SQL (Microsoft SQL Server or PostgreSQL preferred)


o Knowledge of Automation toolsets


o Experience of deploying applications to AWS


o Microsoft Visual Studio


o MVC (if .NET)


o Industry standard API integrations (JSON, Restful etc. SOAP experience a plus)


o Source Control such as Git


o A love of technology and desire to continuously develop and improve

Highly Desirable:

o Vue.js / HTML5 / CSS / jQuery / Bootstrap


o Spring, Hibernate (If Java)


o Scrum/Agile Methodology


o Experience of deploying and developing applications in/to AWS


o Knowledge of design patterns


o Experience of the Insurance industry (especially Motor Claims) would be beneficial


o Knowledge of micro-services architecture


o Knowledge of serverless architecture (E.g., Lambda's)


o Knowledge of Low Code / No Code solutions (E.g., Decisions)


o Experience of Test-Driven Development


o Experience of CI/CD pipelines


o Message Bus technologies


o Xamarin


o Android / iOS Native


o Clean Code principles


o Additional languages (French, German, Others)
