Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced Senior Database Engineer / DBA to administer, tune, and support our MongoDB, MariaDB, MySQL, and Oracle database environments. This is a hands-on techno-operational role requiring close collaboration with developers, SREs, and system administrators to ensure high availability, performance, security, and scalability of production and non-production database systems.
You will be part of a highly collaborative engineering team--never working in isolation--and will play a critical role in debugging, query optimization, automation, and overall database reliability.
Roles & Responsibilities

• Architect, implement, administer, monitor, secure, back up, and optimize MongoDB, MariaDB, MySQL, and Oracle databases

• Manage database clusters across production and non-production environments

• Work closely with development and SRE teams to support data storage and reporting systems

• Perform performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting

• Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and backup strategies

• Support Big Data and NoSQL workloads, bringing both relational and non-relational expertise

• Automate routine database and operational tasks using Python and Shell scripting

• Participate in 24x7 on-call support on a rotational basis

• Handle critical issues calmly and effectively under pressure

Must-Have Skills

• Overall 6+ years of experience, with 4+ years in database engineering, administration, and DBA roles

• Strong hands-on experience in MongoDB, MariaDB, MySQL, and exposure to Oracle in production environments

• Experience with NoSQL databases from evaluation and design through deployment, maintenance, and performance tuning

• Solid understanding of the SQL and NoSQL database ecosystem

• Strong SQL skills and query optimization experience

• Strong knowledge of Linux systems and basic networking

• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Shell, or Perl

• Experience building automation frameworks for database operations

Good-to-Have Skills

• Experience with Elasticsearch

• Experience with Redis

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical training and relevant professional experience
