Responsibilities & Deliverables
Administer and maintain Microsoft Purview environments, ensuring proper configuration, performance, and availability.
Support the onboarding of data sources into Purview, including scanning, classification, and metadata curation.
Collaborate with data governance, security, and compliance teams to implement policies and access controls within Purview.
Monitor and troubleshoot Purview services, resolving issues related to data discovery, lineage, and cataloging.
Assist in the development and maintenance of business glossaries, data domains, and classification rules.
Provide user support and training for business and technical stakeholders on Purview features and best practices.
Work with Microsoft support and internal IT teams to manage updates, enhancements, and issue resolution.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of data governance processes through automation and integration with other M365 tools.
Required Skills & Experience
3-5 years of experience in data governance, data cataloging, or metadata management, with hands-on experience in Microsoft Purview.
5+ years of
experience,
preferably
in
banking
, fintech or other highly regulated industries.
Strong understanding of data governance principles, including
metadata, data catalog, business glossary,
data classification, lineage, stewardship, and policy enforcement.
Experience integrating Purview with Azure services (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Data Lake)

Familiarity with regulatory compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, BCBS 239) and their implications for data governance.
Proficiency in Azure administration and security concepts, including role-based access control (RBAC).
Experience working in Agile environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Qualifications
B achelor's degree in Computer Science , Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field ( Master's degree is a plus).
Strong understanding of data governance principles, metadata management, data quality, and data management frameworks.
Proven ability to support strategic implementation, manage change, and deliver results under tight deadlines.
Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders, including product, legal, privacy, risk, and security teams.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
Professional certifications in data governance (e.g., CDMP, ADGP, IGP) are advantageous .
Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Fundamental a plus .
