Job Summary

The Senior Merchant - Garments will be responsible for managing end-to-end merchandising activities, from buyer communication and product development to order execution and shipment. The role requires strong coordination with buyers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure quality, cost, and delivery timelines are met.

Key Responsibilities

Manage

end-to-end merchandising

for assigned buyers/accounts Handle

buyer communication

for inquiries, costing, sampling, approvals, and order confirmations Prepare and negotiate

cost sheets

, price quotations, and T&A calendars Coordinate

sampling activities

(proto, fit, PP, size set, GPT, TOP samples) Ensure

timely approvals

for fabric, trims, prints, embroidery, and lab dips Liaise with

fabric suppliers, trims vendors, and production teams

Monitor

production status

and ensure adherence to delivery schedules Ensure

quality standards

as per buyer requirements and compliance norms Manage

order booking, production follow-ups, and shipment documentation

Resolve buyer and production issues proactively Guide and mentor

junior merchandisers

Maintain accurate

order records, reports, and MIS

Required Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of

garment manufacturing processes

Excellent

negotiation and communication skills

Strong understanding of

costing, fabric consumption, and trims

Ability to manage

multiple orders and tight timelines

Proficient in

MS Excel, ERP systems, and email communication

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's degree in

Fashion Technology / Textile / Apparel Management

or related field

5-10 years

of experience in garment merchandising (domestic) Prior experience handling and connections with

domestic buyers

preferred

On-time sample and order delivery Cost control and margin achievement Buyer satisfaction and repeat business Quality compliance and rejection control
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
