EM Coder (Evaluation & Management Codin

g U.S Healthcare - Medical Coding

We are seeking a

skilled and detail-oriented experienced E & M Coder

to join our medical coding team. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in

ICD-10 and CPT coding

, with the ability to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in coding medical diagnoses and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Translate

medical diagnoses, procedures, and equipment

into standardized alphanumeric codes. Accurately assign

ICD-10 and CPT codes

to patient medical records. Review patient charts and identify discrepancies in medical documentation. Follow up with providers to clarify

unclear or insufficient documentation

. Audit coded data to identify and correct documentation and coding errors. Analyze audit findings and provide constructive feedback for improvement. Update coding changes after

physician acknowledgement

. Re-file insurance claims, verify insurance coverage, and secure additional information when required. Communicate with insurance companies regarding invoice updates and claim clarifications. Collaborate with physicians to discuss

coding challenges, reimbursement issues, and compliance requirements

. Participate in

coding team meetings, training sessions, and educational conferences

to stay updated on coding guidelines and best practices.

Desired Candidate Profile

Strong knowledge of

ICD-10, CPT, and medical terminology

. Proven experience in

Evaluation & Management (EM) coding

. Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain high accuracy levels. Strong communication and collaboration skills to interact with providers, insurance companies, and team members. Ability to handle coding audits and provide actionable feedback. Commitment to continuous learning and skill enhancement.
