We're building the next generation of AI-orchestrated inspection systems for wind turbines and heavy industrial assets. We now need a senior mechatronics brain who can straddle mechanical design, electronics, embedded systems, and software--someone who actually enjoys making machines behave instead of philosophizing about them.
This role is part-time, perfect for someone who loves solving real engineering problems without signing up for corporate therapy sessions.
What You'll Work On
You'll lead and support the development of our robotic inspection modules--especially the
robotic manipulator for ultrasonic bolt testing
on wind turbines. You'll work across mechanical, electrical, and software layers (because in the real world, they're all tangled anyway).
Key Responsibilities
Design, refine, and validate mechanical systems for robotic inspection tools (arms, end-effectors, UT tooling, etc.)
Collaborate on sensor integration: ultrasonic, vibration, thermal, and other inspection payloads
Lead system-level mechatronics architecture--mechanical + electrical + firmware + software
Work with our AI and robotics teams to ensure seamless hardware-software handshake
Build, test, break, and fix prototypes rapidly
Support field testing with Wind World India and other partners
Ensure designs are robust for outdoor, tower-top, high-vibration environments (aka "wind turbines don't care about your feelings")
Required Skills
Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals (mechanisms, actuators, materials, FEM is a bonus)
Solid experience with embedded systems, motor control, and mechatronics integration
Practical hands-on prototyping - CNC/3D printing/rapid fabrication
Firmware experience (Arduino, STM, ESP, or ROS2 microcontrollers)
Ability to read and write software that actually runs on robots (C++/Python preferred)
Experience with robots, manipulators, or industrial automation
Confidence working on safety-critical hardware
Comfortable collaborating with AI software teams
Preferred But Not Mandatory
Experience with inspection robotics (UT, NDT, crawlers, drone payloads)
Background in wind energy, aerospace, or industrial automation
ROS2 experience
Experience taking R&D hardware toward production readiness
Why Join
You'll help build a robotic system that will sit inside wind turbines across India and Europe while shaping the core mechatronics direction for Noos AI's inspection ecosystem. And yes, you get to work on robots without the full-time shackles.
