Job Description

Summary - The engineer should be an expert in Material Science. He/ She should have exposure in Metals specifically in Polymers and should be able to prepare assessment report, auditing report after material inspection/testing. It would be good to have exposure on Design and Development tools as well.Requirements (Must Have) Doctorate in Material Science or Mechanical Engineer with specialization in materials like Polymers. Ability to create, interpret, and revise 3D CAD and GD&T drawings using CAD tools like Solidworks, Creo etc. Experience with formulating and processing of thermoplastics with a strong background in polymer structure property relationships and polymer blends

• Strong skills in the scientific method and use of design of experiments for data-driven research
• Working knowledge of analytical characterization techniques for rheological, mechanical, and thermal properties of polymers
• Understanding application of the materials in domain, raw material specifications and impact of variation on application

Demonstrated ability to author, review, and execute engineering studies, characterization assessments, and verification test protocols/reports based on product specifications and lower-level requirements.Requirements (Good to have)

• Use of statistical software (StatEase, Minitab, SigmaPro or Sigmasoft) for executing assessment reports

In depth experience in Micro Electromechanical Systems (MEMS) and microfluidic devices development for medical applications Working knowledge of medical device QMS (ex: ISO 13485 and/or ISO 14971), product safety standards (ex: IEC 60601-1)Soft Skills (Must have) Strong verbal and written communication abilities Capable of effectively working at multiple levels within a global, culturally-diverse, cross-functional organization. Strong customer handling experience.Responsibilities

• Successfully execute material qualifications as per the established procedures and ensure that the product quality is complying with the standards.
• Collaborate with external suppliers to improve, develop, and optimize the products to meet requirements and process.
• Define and execute material testing and characterizations for medical devices and create the auditing report and assessment report accordingly.
• Evaluate and interpret the outcome in a very detail manner to make proper judgement during the qualification and implementation phase.
• Support root cause analysis and expedite problem solving in collaboration with the manufacturers and suppliers during material related failures
• Ensure the proper and timely preparation of technical reports
