Job Description

Job Summary

The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for installation, operation, maintenance, and optimization of mechanical systems and process equipment used in animal protein manufacturing. The role ensures uninterrupted plant operations, equipment reliability, energy efficiency, and compliance with safety and hygiene standards.

Key Responsibilities

Plant Machinery & Equipment



Install, operate, and maintain processing equipment such as dryers, grinders, mixers, conveyors, reactors, presses, boilers, and centrifuges. Ensure proper alignment, lubrication, and calibration of rotating and static equipment. Monitor machine performance and reduce breakdowns through preventive maintenance.

Maintenance & Reliability



Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules. Troubleshoot mechanical failures and conduct root cause analysis. Maintain spares inventory and critical equipment availability.

Process & Production Support



Support production team in achieving output, quality, and yield targets. Optimize machine parameters for efficiency, protein recovery, and energy consumption. Assist in commissioning of new machinery and plant expansions.

Utility Systems



Maintain utilities such as boilers, steam lines, compressors, pumps, cooling systems, and material handling systems. Ensure efficient operation of thermal and mechanical utilities.

Safety, Hygiene & Compliance



Ensure compliance with factory safety norms, machine guarding, and lock-out/tag-out procedures. Maintain hygienic equipment design and cleanliness as per food/feed safety standards. Participate in safety audits, inspections, and statutory compliance activities.

Documentation & Coordination



Maintain maintenance logs, SOPs, breakdown reports, and equipment manuals. Coordinate with vendors, OEMs, contractors, and internal departments. Support CAPEX planning, equipment selection, and vendor evaluation.
Key Skills & Competencies

Industrial machinery maintenance and troubleshooting Knowledge of dryers, conveyors, boilers, pumps, and rotating equipment Preventive and predictive maintenance practices AutoCAD (basic), MS Excel, maintenance management systems Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Experience in manufacturing, food processing, feed mills, or agro-industrial plants preferred
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ?35,000.00 - ?45,000.00 per month
