Roles and responsibilities

Design and develop sheet metal components, enclosures, and systems using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD and CNC programming skills.

Create detailed 2D manufacturing drawings and 3D models with proper application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) principles.

Ensure designs are optimized for manufacturing by considering factors such as manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and assembly procedures and (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly or DFMA).

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, production, quality, and supply chain, to ensure seamless project execution from concept to production.

Perform engineering calculations, including stress and structural analysis, to validate design concepts and ensure product stability.

Select appropriate materials and hardware for sheet metal components, considering mechanical properties, cost, and specific application requirements.

Support the creation of Bills of Materials (BOMs), Costing and other technical documentation.

Participate in design reviews, testing, and prototyping activities to validate and refine designs.

Design jigs, fixtures, and press tools to aid in manufacturing and assembly processes.

Troubleshoot design-related issues and implement continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives.

Ensure all designs and products comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements. Skills and qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

Proven experience in mechanical design with a strong focus on sheet metal fabrication and product development.

Technical expertise:

Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, STAAD Pro and AutoCAD). o Deep understanding of sheet metal manufacturing processes, including Punching, cutting, bending, forming, and welding. o Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, and material selection.

Software proficiency: Experience with Cnc programming 2 Axis is beneficial.

Analytical skills: Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills to evaluate and improve designs.

Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with technical and non-technical teams.

Attention to detail: attention to detail to ensure precision and accuracy in design and documentation.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
