Position Summary with Job Responsibilities

Purpose of the position:

Maintain healthy employee relations to enable smooth and hassle-free production process, no mandays lost due to IR issues to ensure harmonious industrial relations by liaising between workers, line managers, divisional heads and Union.

Dimensions of the position:
\xef\x82\xa7Grievance & discipline handling for all bargain able employees: one factory of the workforce size of 600-1200

\xef\x82\xa7Work closely with line managers for improvement in production, interacts with shop supervisors, managers, function heads to the tune of 10-30

Post Graduate in HR

Work Experience

Personal Profile:
Education:Post Graduate in Human Resources
Relevant Experience :10-12 years of experience in HR / ER with exposure to handling blue collared workers extensively

Key Responsibility & Key Tasks:
1 Grievance handling for all bargainable employees

  • Interact with employees to identify and effectively resolve all issues
  • Effective predicting of issues that pose a threat to smooth functioning of organisation & prioritise accordingly
  • Prevent employee grievances from turning into bigger IR issues that can hamper production
  • Conduct regular meetings like IRC ( Industrial Relations Committee) to capture all employee grievances
No of IR issues that lead to mandays lost

2 Ensure maintenance of Internal Discipline
  • Ensure that there is good understanding & acceptance for all rules and regulations mandated by the Management.
  • Take necessary preventive actions and measures of counselling wherever necessary
  • Take necessary disciplinary actions wherever required to ensure harmonious and productive environment on the shop floor
No of indiscipline cases observed on shop-floor

3 Liaise with employees, Union Leaders, line managers, divisional heads & factory heads
  • Maintain cordial relations with all stake holders in order to ensure smooth functioning on the shop floor
  • Assist line managers for improvement initiatives, like Kaizen activities and improvement in production
  • Support senior management including ER and Plant HR head in long-term negotiations with unions
  • Provide cross-functional support to administration, communication and productivity services, safety etc.
  • Resolve ER issues at the plant level striving for no/minimum loss to business/ corporate image
Shop floor adherence to management goals

4 Drive initiatives to motivate bargainable employees
  • Identify and implement welfare activities including sports for blue collar workers in line with organizational guidelines
  • Organise regular Reward & Recognition functions like the long service awards
  • Plan and organise various family events or departmental picnics
Timely implementation of welfare schemes and activities
