Job Description


Purpose of the Role
PVBU Ahmedabad Responsible for Production (Machine Shop), Develop Delivery & Productivity action
Job Responsibility

  • Independently manage Activity of Mfg activities for Machine Shop to Ensure SQPDCME goals are achieved.
  • Machine Shop DPR, OEE, Loss Report and Action Plan.
  • Adherence to Daily Production Plan.
  • Process Issues / Quality issues Resolution related to NCI.
  • Engine defect identification and root cause analysis
  • New model Line set up , line setup and ramp up
  • Capacity improvements through debottlenecking and improvements
  • Rejection system-implementation of zero rejection concept
  • Revenue cost reduction initiatives for implementation and practice Improvement idea generation and implementation
  • Interaction with all support functions and concern resolution with the help of CFT
  • Generate Safety working culture
  • Develop improvement culture
  • Knowledge of quality systems and adherence
  • Implementation of TPM in Machining
  • Driving Tool cost reduction, Power cost Reduction & productivity improvement projects
  • Safe operation of Machineries
  • Coordinate with line management on a regular basis
  • Immediate & quick actions on Layer Audit points & SLA points.
  • Enhance the skill level of team members by conducting technical training / on job training.
  • Departmental MIS preparation
  • Routine reports preparation.
  • Liaison with Manufacturing and Quality for DWM issues and resolution. TPM, 5S, & system knowledge.

Desired Candidate Profile
  • Minimum education qualification: B.E. / B. Tech. (Mechanical / Automobile)
  • Minimum experience requirement 5-10 years
  • Working knowledge requirement: Engine manufacturing process, like Honing, Machining center , Programming, Tool correction, Understanding of Fanuc, Siemens Controls, Hands On Exposure of Mag Machining Centers, Nagel honing Machines, SPAN Centralized Coolant Systems, APCom Leak testing Machines, Gudel Gantry, CES , ICOM Washing Machines, Marposs Guaging Systems, CMM Machines Etc,
  • Exposure to Engine Systems Like Crank Case, Cylinder Head, Crank Shaft, Cooling Systems, Oil Circuits, Combustion Systems, Fuel Systems, EMS Systems Etc.
  • Quality Tools and its application like CMM, QDAS, Data monitoring and analysis , Problem solving tools & techniques such as - Cause- Effect, Control charts, Pareto analysis , Kaizen, QFD , Six Sigma, SPC, MSA ,PFD, Control Plan, WIS, PFMEA,TQM,DWM Etc.
  • People Management / IR issue handling / conflict Management
  • MOST understanding, Line Balancing and Work content reduction
  • TPM Principles and application
  • IATF 16949 & Quality systems
  • Dupont Safety Standards, HIRA,Safe Work Zone, AIA Preparation & Analysis.
  • Cutting Tool setting & Trails.
  • CNC Programming & Conversant to G Codes & M Codes and Macro Programming.
  • knowledgeable about various milling, drilling, reaming grinding, finish boring operations
Skills & Competencies
  • Experience of Engine Mfg. process and production management.
  • Should be aware of TPM Principles and application.
  • Sound knowledge about CMM & GD & T.
  • Knowledge of Cutting Tools, Casting, Latest trend in cutting tools & Machine tool.
  • Knowledge/working experience of Quality systems.
  • To be comfortable to own higher responsibility with the ever-evolving industry dynamics and be receptive to change.
  • To be ready to work in very lean set up and drive a young team delivering aspirational targets everyday.
  • Need to have a leaders mindset Ability to motivate the team, Learn from team and lead the team, innovative thinking, communication skills and customer approach.
  • Differentiating quality mindset is the key aspect. Need to have strong commitment to doing the best job at every step to deliver the highest quality of products from lines.
