Job Summary :
- This role is for a highly driven entrepreneurial individual who will sit within the Private Equity Consulting team
- The individual will bring experience of working with top Private Equity firms or Consulting firms advising PE clients across Pre-Deal / Deal Execution phases and Value creation / Scaling of Portfolio companies
- The individual will work closely with CN Industry/Functional Consulting Teams, Client Account Teams, and Global PE Consulting Leadership across different geographies to identify and convert opportunities, deliver / manage complex engagements, and rapidly build a team below him/her
- Work may require 75-80% travel within and outside India for project work across geographies
Experience and Knowledge Requirements :
- Hands-on experience of working in a Private Equity firm
- Alternatively, experience of working in a top-tier Management Consulting firm with a focus on advising Private Equity clients including but not limited to the list of firms above
- Experience of Commercial Due diligence, Sector/Firm Research, Target Screening, M&A Deal Advisory, Post Merger Integration, Portfolio Value Creation, PortCo Growth Strategy, PortCo ESG Strategy, PortCo Technology Transformation, Outsourcing etc.
- Deep industry experience in one or more of the following industries - CMT (Telecommunication/Media/ High-Tech/Software & Platforms), Financial Services (Banking/Insurance/Capital Markets), Resources (Chemicals/Energy/Utilities), Healthcare/Life Sciences, Consumer Goods & Services or Retail
- Program Management skills - Involves effectively planning, managing, and coordinating multiple projects in a dynamic environment with distributed stakeholder groups and execute on-time and budget
- Strong oral communication and writing skills - experience of producing high caliber reports, papers, presentations and thought leadership
- Experience of developing Assets, Accelerators, POV/Thought Leadership based on research
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Entrepreneurial mindset of growing the PE Consulting team and tenacity to deliver challenging targets
Key Responsibilities:
Project Delivery:
- Lead day-to-day execution of complex consulting projects for Private Equity clients across Pre-Deal phase, Deal Execution phase and Value Creation / Scaling of Portfolio companies
- Manage a team of Analysts and Consultants during project delivery
- Ensure timely, high-quality delivery to clients through effective team management; define deliverables; prioritize and set deadlines; review work, provide feedback and ensure quality control
Business Development:
- Identify and convert client opportunities by building relationships in PE firms across geographies
- Support RFP discussions, prepare proposal documents (e.g., proposed solution, deliverables, teaming, timelines, price etc.) and deliver Client Orals working closely with Bid Managers and Client Account Leads
- Harness extensive knowledge combined with an integrated suite of methods, people and assets to help account teams to originate new projects/extensions
Practice Development:
- Contribute to the development of new assets / IP, thought capital and POVs/Offerings raising the profile of your team and the firm leading to demand generation
- Support hiring campaigns (lateral/campus) to aggressively build and grow the PE Consulting team always keeping team members chargeable on client projects
- Conduct and facilitate Brown Bag sessions, direct/indirect mentoring, and dissemination of knowledge to upskill fellow team members and attend trainings / get certified on emerging concepts to stay relevant in the market
