Basic Function -

Process entails review of local GAAP adjustment journals for APAC, EMEA and LATHAM countries for an insurance client. Manage the period - end close cycle - Month-end/Quarter-end/Annual for local books of various countries Expert knowledge on GAAP consolidation cycle and ability to review consolidation financials and provide commentary for Group consolidation.

Essential Functions



Preparation & review of annual planning process & monitoring timely completion. Preparation and review of monthly operating reviews, business commentary, CFO presentations.

Primary Internal Interactions



Manager/ Assistant Manager for the purpose of reporting performance, escalation handling, clarifying concerns, and seeking feedback and support Manager for the purpose of settling issues left unresolved by the Assistant Manager and monthly evaluation of performance Peers (team members) for the purpose of seeking co-operation & clarification on process-related matters & providing assistance and support when required

Primary External Interactions



Onshore Team Manager and SMEs for daily planning of work and execution of deliverables Must demonstrate effective and diplomatic oral and written communication skills Strong time management and organization skills

Technical Skills



Chartered Accountant, CPA, CFA or equivalent with 7 - 9 years' experience in US GAAP / IFRS accounting experience B.Com with strong practical experience in Accounting and reporting for more than 11-14 years

Process Specific Skills



Should have expert level understanding of GAAP accounting principles and procedures. Requires the knowledge and ability to review Journals, reconciliations provide solutions to technical accounting issues and organize projects Insurance accounting regulatory reporting experience or US GAAP/IFRS knowledge mandatory. Strong knowledge of Group Consolidation accounting and financials Ability to understand the significance of various activities in a statutory/GAAP accounting close cycle and deliver results accordingly.

7 - 9 years of experience in technical accounting or reporting area preferably with an insurance company. 4+ years of supervisory experience in the field of Insurance/Reinsurance accounting for SM 3+ years of supervisory experience in the field of Insurance/Reinsurance accounting for Manager Should have good understanding of GAAP accounting principles and procedures.
