PRoSE is a Portfolio Construction and Rebalancing system used by SSGA Portfolio managers to manage the Liability Driven Investment (LDI) and solutions portfolios for rebalancing, managing exposures and client overlay strategies for commingled, separately managed and externally managed funds. This solution provides predefined trade rebalancing algorithms and future considerations helping the PMs on investment decisions. It interacts with trading, holdings, compliance, risk, custom benchmarks, funding ratio monitors, portfolio optimizer and various applications.
Who we are looking for
SSGA is looking for a Strong Java candidate with 8+ of experience in Java and Database technologies contributed in Development and Maintenance of large scale finance applications. The candidate will own the technical support of UI, middle ware and backend deliverables of the PRoSE system, in Java, JBoss, and Oracle platform. Candidate should have solid working experience in Linux, JBoss environment and scheduled jobs (Autosys). IT deliverables include supporting the system technical support and development. The candidate should also have been part of cloud and other migration projects.
What the candidate will be responsible for

• Individual contributor owning the full stack technical support of UI, middleware and database components of the application
• Participate in the development activities as well
• Design, Development and Release the Java and backend components
• Performance improvement
• Handling the scheduled jobs in Linux environment
• Writing RESTFul services, DAO components, Business rules, integration to inbound and outbound systems
• Extract adhoc reports based on business and regulatory requirements
• Lead the Cloud migration efforts in PRoSE
• Review and support peer deliverables
• Provide technical support in analyzing production issues L3/L4 to ensure the uninterrupted services to the business
• Be a technical mentor for the junior team members
• Effective collaboration with the Boston, Business counterparts and other application teams

• 13+ years of experience in IT industry
• Proven strong programming experience as middleware and backend development (java & database), preferably working on low latency, high throughput, globally distributed systems
• Experience working within a financial institution, preferably Front Office IT, with exposure to the business
• Sound experience in Java and Oracle database
• Solid experience in Unix / Linux environment
• Experience in Technology migration projects including Cloud migration
• Strong analytic, problem solving, and collaborative skills
• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree or more
