We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team as a Retail Analyst specializing in Market Intelligence and Commodity Research Services, the candidate will play a crucial role in providing valuable insights to stakeholders and clients. The individual will possess a strong analytical acumen, leveraging various tools and skills to analyze market trends, interpret complex data, and forecast commodity prices. The role requires expertise in using tools like Input Cost Management Tool (ICM), RISI, Upply, Urner Barry, Mintec, and IHS, along with proficiency in analytics tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, ICM) and Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PPT).
Responsibilities
Market Analysis: Research and analyze commodity price trends, supply-demand factors, and geopolitical impacts affecting the retail sector.
Stay abreast of market developments and industry trends to provide timely insights.
Data Interpretation: Utilize both quantitative and qualitative methods to interpret complex data sets related to commodity markets.
Extract actionable intelligence from data sources to guide strategic decision-making.
Forecasting: Develop statistical models to predict commodity prices, considering various influencing factors. Continuously refine and improve forecasting models based on market dynamics.
Reporting: Prepare insightful reports and presentations for stakeholders and clients, communicating findings in a clear and concise manner. Customize reports to address specific client needs and provide actionable recommendations.
Vendor Matrix Management: Continuously update the vendor matrix with new insights and feedback from various sources. Evaluate and categorize suppliers based on relevant criteria to inform decision-making.
Risk Assessment: Identify market risks and opportunities, offering proactive insights to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities. Provide recommendations on risk management strategies to safeguard against market uncertainties.
Commodity Data Tools: Utilize specialized commodity data tools for in-depth analysis and market prediction. Stay current on emerging tools and technologies to enhance analytical capabilities.
Qualifications we seek in you!
Minimum Qualifications
Familiarity with Input Cost Management Tool (ICM), RISI, Upply, Urner Barry, Mintec, and IHS.
Proficiency in analytics tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and ICM.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft tools (Excel, Word, and PPT).
Excellent communication skills for preparing reports and presentations.
Proven experience in market analysis, forecasting, and risk assessment within the retail sector.
