Roles and Responsibility
Job Summary

  • This position would be responsible for leading the direct tax (DT) within the Tax CoE function in GFS Chennai/Bangalore. This includes data collation, data analysis, data validation, reports consolidation, reports validation and reconciliations.
  • Lead and drive the global process model for the DT stream. Manage the team to deliver on the end to end processes. Manage stakeholders in across GFS, countries and at group tax level.
  • Work with multi jurisdiction tax compliance and reporting in Industry (preferably banking) and hands on experience as a reviewer for Tax compliance and reporting processes. Planning and Forecasting experience is preferred.
  • Support the Tax leads in coming up with a training plan, ensure the necessary tool sets are in place and make sure the training plan is executed smoothly and in a timely manner.
  • Work on the activities directly identified/assigned and deliver them within the agreed timelines.
  • Disseminate the knowledge on existing as well as ongoing changes happening in the systems and processes in an organized manner to the rest of the team members and bring them up to speed to perform the activities.
  • Support the team in delivering the agreed processes, by assigning some of the processes to self to manage peak working load.
  • Supporting and provide guidance on Indian Tax compliance including Tax audit, TP audit and assessments, handling IT notices and ITAT appeals.
  • To meet the timelines of all India Tax Deliverables without any deviation as there is a regulatory expectation in meeting the timelines by planning the activities/deliverables and assign them to the team accordingly.
  • Provide the necessary updates to stakeholders/Project working groups on a regular basis.
  • Engage in a positive and pro-active stakeholder management
  • Interact with Key Project team members/stakeholders to understand Regulatory Impact / Changes
  • Keep operating instructions\xe2\x80\x99 documents up to date

  • Tax CoE is responsible for producing high quality, timely tax returns & tax reports for the Group and countries.Tax CoE covers financial tax reporting, tax compliance, tax controversy, tax forecasting, client tax reporting and transfer pricing processes

  • Identify opportunities to remove process waste, engage in standardisation of various reporting packs and encourage, drive and support automation initiatives thereby reduce / remove the non-value adds in the process.
  • Establish robust control and governance on the process
  • Drive productivity and achieve cost efficiencies through continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Drive a culture to capture appropriate metrics for tracking actual hours/ standard hours/ errors etc
  • Ensure detailed documentation and it is up to date for all processes

Risk Management
  • Delivery of standard reports as per the commitments in accordance to respective country compliance. Manage the process with no errors. Identify and raise any issues on timely manner

  • To possess one of the qualifications \xe2\x80\x93 CA/CWA/MBA

  • Ability to lead and motivate team
  • Ability to work closely with teams from various departments and all levels of management
  • Proficiency in MS Office functionality and working experience in PeopleSoft, S.A.P, transaction processing systems and related software
  • Good working knowledge of international banking products, systems and/or processes including a previous work experience in any data warehouse infrastructure is highly preferable
  • Previous experience of regulatory reporting project would be an advantage
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
