Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering (preferably Electrical or Mechanical).
15-20 years of experience in Production and Manufacturing in the Medium Voltage
Switchgear industry.
Demonstrated success in operations optimization, including improvements in
efficiency, cost, and quality.
Hands-on experience implementing Lean Manufacturing principles is essential.
An MBA in Operations/Production Management is desirable and will be considered
an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production & Planning
Achieve monthly and annual production targets in alignment with sales and delivery
plans.
Develop, monitor, and continuously improve manufacturing schedules and workflows
to ensure timely order fulfillment.
Apply Lean tools (such as 5S, Kaizen, Kanban, Value Stream Mapping) to streamline
production and eliminate waste.
2. Operations Optimization
Lead initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, improve quality, and
ensure optimal resource utilization.
Establish and monitor KPIs and performance metrics to identify bottlenecks and drive
continuous improvement.
Promote a culture of accountability, innovation, and problem-solving on the shop
floor.
3. Design & Engineering
Review customer-approved drawings and engineering documentation for
manufacturability.
Collaborate with design teams to ensure engineering inputs are production-friendly.
4. Materials Management
Coordinate timely procurement of raw materials (e.g., steel, copper) and key components.
Ensure robust systems for material receipt, storage, inventory control, and issue tracking.
5. Shop Floor & Team Management
Build and manage a high-performing team of engineers, supervisors, and mid-level
managers.
Drive discipline, safety, and productivity through structured shop floor practices and
clear communication.
6. Quality Assurance & Compliance
Ensure products meet ISO, IEC, and client-specific standards through rigorous quality
checks and testing.
Review and maintain compliance with ISO processes, internal quality standards, and
statutory requirements.
7. After-Sales Support
Oversee post-dispatch activities including site commissioning, troubleshooting, and
service support.
Address customer complaints proactively through technical analysis and service
excellence.
8. Equipment Maintenance & Reliability
Ensure routine calibration and preventive maintenance of tools, machines, and testing
equipment to minimize downtime.
Drive a Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) mindset across the production setup.
Plant Upgradation & Continuous Improvement
Lead modernization of plant and machinery in line with new-age technologies and
future readiness.
Champion continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma
methodologies to improve throughput, safety, and operational performance.
Reporting & MIS
Prepare and present regular reports on production, resource utilization, and
operational KPIs to senior management.
Maintain up-to-date and accurate MIS documentation for internal review and decision-making.
Administrative & Statutory Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with all relevant labour laws, safety regulations, and the Factories Act.
Partner with HR for recruitment, training, performance reviews, and team development.
Key Requirements
Proven track record in operations optimization and production planning.
Deep expertise in Lean Manufacturing principles and implementation.
Strong leadership in managing shop floor teams, processes, and schedules.
Experience in quality assurance, ISO compliance, and post-sales support.
Hands-on knowledge of materials procurement, vendor coordination, and inventory control.
Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end production operations in alignment with the sales plan.
Optimize workflows, reduce waste, and improve cost-efficiency.
Ensure compliance with quality standards (ISO, IEC) and safety norms.
Drive preventive maintenance and equipment calibration.
Support after-sales commissioning, repairs, and customer issue resolution.
Modernize plant and adopt new-age manufacturing techniques.
