Overview:
The Enterprise Engineering Cybersecurity team is experiencing tremendous demand and we're looking for a Senior Engineering Manager (Product Cybersecurity) to lead a shared services team of product security engineers. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for advancing the cybersecurity posture of our systems throughout the entire product lifecycle--from initial concept and design, use case capture, hardware and software development, system integration, through to verification and certification.
You will lead and inspire a high-performing team dedicated to enhancing the security of our next-generation aircraft communication and connectivity solutions for both military and commercial customers.
What You'll Do:
Build and lead a diverse, high-performing team by fostering a culture of inclusion, knowledge sharing, and continuous growth in product security expertise.
Manage employee performance and development proactively to retain top talent.
Assign technical resources effectively to meet project needs and deadlines.
Oversee and contribute to engineering bids to ensure program success.
Guide teams in compliance with DO-326A / DO-356A Airworthiness Security processes and Risk Management Framework (RMF) methodologies.
Advise Value Stream Leaders on integrating security technologies into strategic product roadmaps.
Champion the adoption and integration of Collins-developed security technologies in new and existing products.
Review and approve product security artifacts before release.
Develop and deliver product security awareness and education training company-wide.
Drive organizational adoption of Secure System Development Lifecycle (SSDLC) best practices.
Actively participate in the Product Cybersecurity Management System (PCMS).
Qualifications You must have:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field.
12+ years of relevant industry experience.
7+ years in leadership roles managing projects and teams.
Background in system or software development, particularly with embedded systems.
Qualifications we Prefer:
Strong understanding of security-by-design principles and layered defense strategies.
Experience reviewing system and application vulnerability assessments and recommending mitigations.
Proven ability to manage urgent and competing priorities effectively.
Familiarity with RTCA DO-326A / DO-356A and/or RMF methodologies.
Industry-recognized security certifications such as Security+, OSCP, CISSP.
