The SMT Line Production Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the daily operations of SMT production lines to ensure efficient, high-quality, and on-time manufacturing of electronic assemblies. This role involves managing personnel, monitoring production metrics, improving processes, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Management:
Lead, coach, and manage SMT production line staff (operators, technicians, supervisors).
Coordinate shift schedules, manpower planning, and resource allocation.
Production Oversight:
Ensure SMT lines operate efficiently to meet daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.
Monitor WIP (Work in Progress), throughput, and yield metrics.
Drive adherence to production plans and timelines.
Process Control & Improvement:
Implement and sustain lean manufacturing practices (5S, Kaizen, etc.).
Identify process bottlenecks and work to eliminate inefficiencies.
Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to introduce new products (NPI) and optimize processes.
Quality Assurance:
Ensure compliance with IPC standards and internal quality requirements.
Investigate and address production defects, root causes, and corrective actions.
Maintain proper documentation and traceability of production activities.
Equipment Management:
Oversee maintenance schedules and ensure proper functioning of SMT equipment (e.g., pick-and-place machines, reflow ovens, AOI, SPI).
Coordinate with maintenance and engineering teams for equipment calibration and upgrades.
Health & Safety:
Enforce safety policies and procedures.
Maintain a clean and organized production floor.
Qualifications & Skills:
Master degree in Engineering, Electronics, Manufacturing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
10+ years of experience in Managerial level SMT manufacturing,
Strong knowledge of SMT processes and equipment
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Experience with ERP and MES systems is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Work Environment:
Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery and electronic components.
May require standing for extended periods and lifting up to 25 lbs.
Use of ESD protection and PPE is mandatory in designated areas.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹150,000.00 - ₹200,000.00 per month
