About the role

Astrazeneca is looking for Senior Manager - Network Operations to build and lead a team of highly skilled network engineers. This team is the point of contact for all critical network issues in Astrazeneca manufacturing sites and Astrazeneca offices globally. This team is responsible for providing end to end support for the Astrazeneca network infrastructure which includes LAN, WAN, Wireless LAN, Firewall, Load balancer and Proxy services. As a Senior Manager, the candidate will be responsible for leading a team of 10-15 Network Engineers some of whom are on shift to provide 24x7 cover. The team monitor and maintain the networks and platforms, delivering the highest possible service levels. They also ensure that changes to the network and infrastructure are planned and executed in order to meet the agreed dates for service provision, and project builds are completed on time. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for end-to-end problem management for our network infrastructure to include coordinating with other engineering and support organizations, and vendors to drive solutions. The role will also focus on the development and implementation of performance measurement and management mechanisms to drive service enhancements and seek opportunities to enhance CSIS contribution and value to the business

Typical Accountabilities

Operational Excellence As a Senior Manager, he/she will be expected to drive operational excellence in everything we do. This includes creating processes, procedures, and automation to improve efficiency in our day-to-day tasks and projects. You will work closely on supporting our internal customers and ensuring that their needs and issues are being addressed.
  • Accountable for Network/event monitoring, incident detection and resolution of issues
  • Manage all incidents in the networking domain in accordance with the defined Incident Management Process
  • Lead High Priority Incident and business bridges to capture activity detail and to manage incident resolutions.
  • Facilitate operational reviews with Technology Leads on regular intervals and provide service governance insights and look for continuous improvements
  • Drive performance analysis of Service Introduction, Change Management, Service Level Management, Incident Management, Availability and Capacity Management projects, identify trends, issues and their root causes
  • Evaluate effectiveness and efficiency of support and maintenance services and provide recommendations for savings and improvements
  • Contribute to Risk, Problem, Capacity Management and Service Improvement Plans.
  • Ensure all the Problems and Service requests are closed by team within agreed timelines.
  • Analyze suppliers\xe2\x80\x99 performance against SLAs, share outcomes and drive future SLAs with Network Operations Leads
  • Work collaboratively with:
Customer service and own Service Improvement Plans for major incidents and instances of customer dissatisfaction Suppliers to ensure performance to targets within contracts and agreements, while conforming to all the terms and conditions
  • Keep up-to date with the latest relevant technology, relevant standards, policies and directives;
  • Playing accountable role along with team while handling the operations issues and delivering the assigned projects
  • Finding the scope improvement by initiating the Lean/Six Sigma projects to add the efficiency in to system/process.
  • Drive automation within the team by identifying areas of improvement.
  • Performance management: holds team accountable to clearly achieve results through coaching and performance management while creating a culture superior performance.

Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Essential

  • A Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree from an accredited university.
  • Typically, 12-15 years of Experience supporting large scaler enterprise level network infrastructure.
  • 5-7 years of experience managing teams.
  • ITIL V3 Foundation Certified
  • Candidate must have worked/handled the 24/7 Network Operations Centre or Support teams
  • Global customer interaction is one of the key expectations from candidate
  • The candidate should hold good understanding of Networking technologies.
  • Good communication and facilitation skills
  • Strong collaboration skills, with demonstrated experience building trusted relationships with key partners. Proven cross-functional collaboration skills across organizations, functions, and markets is preferred.

  • Business Administration / Master\xe2\x80\x99s Degree
  • Passion to lead a technology team
  • Ability to work well in diverse, multinational teams and proven ability to influence others to achieve positive outcomes
  • Certifications in Networking
