Job Tittle: Manager - Applications Engineering Industrial Refrigeration

What you will do

As an Applications Engineering professional, this role will be focused Lead and manage a team of mechanical and design engineers focused on the closely working with the sales team for optimized selections, overall design of system and to prepared accurate technical proposals. The job profile also includes working closely with the products team for 'pre-sales support' and for adoption of industrial refrigeration products.

Provide pre-sales support on Industrial Refrigeration products and turnkey solutions from reading technical specifications to making selections and providing an optimized quote. The selection of standard equipment will be based on internal software and tools. The activity includes proposing the technical solution, compressor and other equipment selection and arriving at a comprehensive price including ancillary components to complete the system. Review the engineering drawings and specifications to provide solutions in line with JCI standards and in adherence to customer/ consultant requirement. Liaison with the global engineering and product teams to understand the latest product development and the new products. Organize knowledge sessions for the sales team through internal workshops and training by component suppliers to enhance the proficiency of the team. Interact with the consultants and end-users to explain about our products and offers.

How you will do it

Evaluate the opportunities received from the Sales team. You will use your technical expertise in Industrial Refrigeration to devise an optimized solution for the project. Work with engineering team to get the necessary drawing/ document submittals required at pre-sales stage. Review the cost estimation and the technical bid before submittal. Ensure that we meet the applicable product standards like ASME, API, TEMA, etc, Work closely with SCM to get the optimized costs for the bought-out items. Also get involved while identifying new vendors. Interact with manufacturing plants in India as well as other locations abroad to get the optimized price for the factory manufactured products and skids. Provide technical mentorship and support to junior engineers within the team. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration throughout the design and order fulfillment process.

Required

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering. 10+ years of experience in industrial refrigeration projects and products. Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and refrigeration cycles. Good experience about refrigeration applications in food, chemical, pharmaceuticals, oil and gas. Conversant about refrigeration systems with ammonia, R507, R404a and hydrocarbon refrigerants like Propane, Propylene, etc. Good working knowledge about ASME, TEMA and applicable API standards for refrigeration products. Excellent communication, project management, and team leadership skills.

Preferred

Experience with natural refrigerants (e.g., ammonia, CO?), Gas Processing
* Prior experience working with global teams and suppliers.
