Job Objective

• Develop talented and motivated Digital Underwriting team who are focused on clear objectives, driven to achieve superior results and have opportunities for personal growth
• Automate underwriting processes and ensure quality output to support business functions.
• To ensure avoidance of breach of AML / Compliance guidelines/reinsurance approved guidelines
• Adherence and management of Claims Re underwriting TAT
• Drive Reinsurer engagement at strategic level
• Evaluate emerging trends, competition practices, formulate options and propose recommendations on guideline to senior management.

• Participate in new initiatives/projects and Partner Integration
• Enabling and facilitating roll out of different products launched time to time and ensure guidelines are built in the system to avoid any process gap.
• Promote NPS by promoting clear case % by identifying various opportunities.
• Periodic surveillance & benchmarking of prevailing UW guidelines and practices to improve/improvise existing MLI UW guidelines practices

Audit and Compliance

• 100% compliance to the implementation of reinsurance approved guidelines.
• Pro-Active identification of open system issues and deploy fixes which can impact mortality and claims ratio.
• Zero Surprise Observations in IRDAI Audits Post Process
• Strengthening of UW quality through claims feedback, SIC culture, Robust training

Reinsurance alignment and support

• Drive Reinsurer engagement at strategic level
• Develop Strategic alignment with reinsurer on customized sourcing restriction, underwriting guidelines, underwriting/financial requirements and surrogates.
• Strengthen reinsurance relationship through coordination and regular interaction
• Highlight any deviation seen in UW approach and report outages to reinsurer to ensure no claim denial.
• Ensure all UW treaties are reviewed & sign off within stipulated time.
• Periodically update all repositories and guidelines. Publish the same on periodic basis.
• Keep a track of all guidelines in chronological order.

Competition trend analysis & distribution /System alignment

• Management and proper alignment of rules approved by reinsurer in system
• Self-identification and quick fixes of open process issues which can impact mortality and claims ratio
• Evaluate emerging trends, competition practices, formulate options and propose recommendations on guideline to senior management.
• Governance and diligent check on various UW process and adherence to ensure no death claims reported on clear cases due to negligence/incorrect system rules

Training & QC

• Able to understand underwriting logics and impart same knowledge to team
• Validation of errors while doing QC/validation of clear case /underwritten base/claim re UW opinion cases
• Periodically publishing dashboard of Claim and QC learning/outcomes.
